PGR~ Road Guard

If you are a PGR member, are you allowed to be a Road Guard on your trike?

Our Sheriff's office has a certification where you can stop traffic at intersections, etc. It allows the funeral procession to continue through lights, stop signs, etc.

We do have a trike with the road guards here in Az.

The only problem I could see was getting back to the front for the next intersection. Trikes are a bit wider than 2 wheelers and could have problems on narrower roads.

Trikes are better at parking on the side of the road. They don't fall over if parked on a sloping shoulder and they're more noticable.

Can't imagine anyone would say no.

I've used my trike to block intersections but only to assist and at the request of the LEO escorting the procession.

From what I understand, here in Md we can not block roads with out the aid of LEOs. that being said I see no reason a Trike can not be used. I know my Trike is fast enough handle that duty.

After a lot of heartache and pain (on my part), I was told yesterday that the "Senior" Road Guard was incorrect. If I pass all their tests I could become a Road Guard. However, I would be a tail gunner unless there was a shortage of Road Guards for that mission.
