Parts Reviews for 2012 GL1800 and 2016 CSC Conversion

Does anyone have opinions on the following add on parts?

  • Baker Trike wings..they almost look too large but does anyone have them working?
  • Handlebar risers. I 'm a short guy and want the handlebars up a little and back as far as possible for comfort. Are the Kuryakyn risers the right choice?
  • How about the F4 windshields? Any comments on upgrading

Thanks folks! Love the forum!

1. Trike wings do a great job of pushing lower air out and around driver and rear fenders. This helps keep things from hitting fenders and re-directing air that flow upwards from front of fenders to co-riders chin.

2. I have a set of MBL wide riser on my my Roadsmith and they made all the difference. I'm 5'9" and the six degree rake lowered my bars. The risers brought them up and back and the "wide" version placed the bars closer to my shoulder width greatly improving my comfort.

3. I'm installing an F4 tomorrow so hope it is all it's cracked up to be. I got the +4 to help passenger helmet buffeting.

Baker wings work really well, but there are wings made by "windwings" that i like better. They work about the same, but are heaveyer duty.

I use the risers and they work well for me.

Love f4's,but to pricey for me.

I like all the Baker products and am also using the MBL wide risers. My comment is more towards the windshield. F4 windshields have a great reputation, I would just caution about the +4 height. I would suggest that you want to be able to look over the windshield in emergencies. There have been times on trips where the windshield would completely fog over such as up in the mountains during fogs and at highway speeds. It would have been more dangerous had I not been able to look over the windshield. There have been other times as well that I needed to be able to look over the windshield such as heading into the sun at end of riding all day with a windshield coated in bugs and such. So you may want to keep that in mind if you do a lot of traveling on the trike...

I put the riser/setbacks on as soon as I triked my first Trike. Baker Built is a great product but can't be used with a Hannigan Gen II kit because of how the food pegs need to be mounted. I have a F4 shield. Absolutely great! I've had them all and this should be my last one unless I get a new bike and then I'll buy another one. The F4 is worth the money cause most cases you will never need to buy another one.
