Pan Hard Rod Assembly

I've got my 2016 Triglide on the J&S jack with the wheels off. I am going to remove the Pan hard rod to replace the Hein joints. I do not estimate there will be any stress or load on the pan hard rod in this configuration but want to ask anyone who has changed theirs without removing the body if this is the case. Any response is welcome.
