check engine light came on Saturday and the cruise don't work throwing this code P0577 need some help do i need to call the dealer or something i can clear

Does the 6th gear light work?

What year bike?

Any modifications such as LED gauges or handlebar switches?

Did you just ride it in the rain or wash it?

I think about 1 1/2 years ago I had similar warning on my '10 TG. Turned out the Cruise control thumb switch was bad.

The majority of CC outages are bad switches. This can come with changing grips, handlebars or simply heavy usage of the control switch. Water comes into play as well as the switch contacts do corrode.

If you lost 6th gear light then your VSS would be suspect.

I would say to clear the code, clean up the switch by opening the case and use compressed air in case there is moisture present. Ride to see if the issue returns. If it does then a trip to the dealer is warranted.
