A friend has a 2002 1800 with a Motor Trike kit. He over reved the engine and it shut down. He has nothing. It's like no battery installed. Is there an over speed system? If so does it need to be reset? Any info will help.

There is a speed limiter but I don't think it would give you the "no battery installed" symptom. Do you have access to a service manual? If not shoot me your email VIA PM and I'll send you some wiring diagrams to hopefully help you out. I'd start by making sure the over rev and other problems didn't happen the same time. Start with the battery condition & connections. Then check all fuses. This is such a strange problem.... It's going to have a strange fix I bet... :xszpv::xszpv:

Do a soft restart, disconnect the battery, both negative and positive and leave em off for 5 minutes. Reconnect to check. This will put the ecm back to normal if it kicked something. I would check the fusses first.
Did it make any sounds when it stopped running. The limiter will pop when it hits it. First time it scared me when it did it. Why id he over rev it. The limiter is several hundred rpm's above the red area. your wasting power
Does the lights still work?

I am wondering if it blew and locked up.

It was his battery. I pulled mine and made him install it in his bike. Started right up and ran fine. He couldn't believe it was his batt. I asked how old his batt was and he said it was the original. His bike is a 2002. Never heard of a batt lasting that long.
