When we were visiting our daughter and hubby this summer, the grandson was home after graduation. He had some kind of a concoction stewing in a 20 gallon plastic container. I didn't remember to ask him what it was, I know he brews his own beer and some whiskeys also. Our daughter sent this picture today, now we know what it was.

​Judging by the temperature indicator the system's running and much too close to the house. Your chemistry major grandson likely knows ethanol burns without a visible flame. Even a small explosion will set the house on fire. Hope he's just cleaning in prep for the next batch.

Hey Ronnie, he's just turned 29 so it's all cool. Found out today the first batch came in at 162 proof !!! Second batch was much tamer and he combined the two to end up at 106 proof, daughter said it was smooth but strong.
