November 2nd is the day upon which all active duty members of the armed forces have to have gotten at least their first Covid-19 shot. National Guard and reserves have till Dec 2nd. Stats show 97% of active duty have complied. Possible discharge from duty is on the table for refusal. So how come we weren't offered that option during Nam ? :D I'd of never let them inoculate me. :clapping:

When they shot me up with the air needles/guns in both arms [Fort Dix1965] there wasn't a choice....And as a matter of fact i didn't know what i was injected with....I think it was 6 or 7 vaccines all at one time..:shok:.

No choice at MCRD in 1966 either. But I believe what ever they injected in us was not experimental. A lot of us survived to be the old farts that we are. Long term effects are unknown about the stuff being injected now..... Jim

Diego or PI ?

:D Camp Matthews was closed by the time you went threw wasn't it ? That used to be the rifle range.

Interesting article. I was not aware of Camp Matthews at all. Of course, we were not provided with any information that wasn't relative to what we needed. The Edson range at Camp Pendleton is the range used when I was in. We were bussed from MCRD to Pendleton and temporarily housed there while at the range. Better and newer facilities than at S.D. The D.I.s were kinder to us while at the range. But that kindness ended once we returned to MCRD. Ahhhh..... The memories.....

Thankfully, it takes more than one to activate the "football."

Correct. Congress must first produce an EWO (Emergency War Order) to authorize handing that briefcase to the president so he can open it. This isn't going to happen on a whim. Darned serious business. And just so everybody understands, there are no buttons to be pushed, it actually involves removing a set of keys from a locked console and turning them both at the same time.

At least, that was the protocol back in the early 70's.

Do you mean to tell me that Slim Pickens didn't really ride that bomb ...:D...

Camp Mathews was given to the state of California, I think in 1964. It is now part of the University of California, San Diego.

Election day

Well, today is election day in TX and elsewhere. We have 8 amendments on the ballot. Of course the one to watch is VA. It is evidently very close.

Most now'a days are close....But as the years go bye they will turn decisively to the left ..

The United States of Shithole is coming.....:(...

You have one today in NJ I see. Is Murphy going to get reelected ? NJ has gone blue I see.

The only good thing about Murphy is our Taxes are so high that it keeps the retired freeloader workers with pension's out of the Garden State...:D..

Let's see is it gonna be the Italian Mafia, or the Irish Mafia.:)

When i lived Brooklyn ...In my neighborhood it was run by the Sicilian Mafia...And if you didn't mess with them' They didn't mess with you, And nobody from outside the neighborhood messed with anyone in the neighborhood...:cxtv:..

For good or bad that's just the way it was...:xzqxz:...

Mighty Mike

When at MCRD in San Diego in 1967 both arms at once and didn't know what we were getting. One guy had a reaction

and fell on his face when in formation. DI just dragged him over to a power pole loosened his belt buckle to help him

breath and the Navy meat wagon carted him off to sick bay. He was back that same night. Remember it well. Oh yea

he was the platoon clown who would take lighter fluid in his mouth and blow it over his lit Zippo. He got caught and was then known as private Torch who always had to lite the DI'S cigarette. Yea there were some funny moments but not many.
