I just purchased a 06 ultra motor trike 18,000 miles the only turn signals on rear are the 2 little rectangle ones on the bottom of the bumper which are not very bright how do I get the tombstone ones on the fender to work? And thanks Zook trees work great.

Sounds like you have something like the one in the pic below.

It depends upon how it got wired in. Sounds like someone took the turn signal wire and tied it into one of these and they left the tail lights as run/brake lights. You'd have to trace the wire back from the bumper. Normally there is a converter involved to make the tail lights run/brake/turn and it is similar to a trailer converter.

It’s the 2 below the bumper IMG_1612.jpeg

The wiring will have to be traced from the tiny light to the wiring harness at the tail lamps and to look for a cut that rerouted the wire. There's no telling where the cut was made, it could be located close to the light or further up.

it has a 4 pin and 3 pin connecter the 4 pin goes to tombstone light but it just has 3 wires 4th goes to small light which has 4 wires but 3 pin connecter its a nightmare to someone who is colorblind

The Motor Trike Tombstone tail lights do not incorporate turn signals and cannot be easily rewired for turn signals. That is why they use additional lights for turn signals.

I've noticed the Harley models at the MotorTrike website not having a light bar or smaller lamps on the rear, did they change something with how the lights are wired?

I miss incandescent bulbs, as I could wire all the lights on the rear as run/brake/turn. :(
There has to be a kit out there that will convert all the lights and do away with the small ones.
With all the distracted drivers out there, the more lights the better. So basically when you initiate a turn only the tiny light at the bottom blinks and the tour-pack light stays solid.

The OP's trike is a 2006 that were not available with built in turn signals using the Motor Trike toumbstone tail lights. The later models use an updated tail light assembly that does have built in turn signals.

Thank you, I learned something new today and so what he has is a mix of LED and incandescent bulbs and that would mean a splice in ahead of the incandescent bulbs if I remember correctly.

I think his are all incandescent if they are original to the trike. I think the lenses make them appear to be a mix but I think they are not.

Ah, they're all incandescent. That means a converter box and a 2006 lighting schematic and if the magic I worked on older Goldwings to get all the lights to work in harmony, it should work for a Harley Davidson too. At least its not one of the newer bikes/trikes where I'll lose the 'Magic Smoke'. This is when you make your own wiring harness with connector and then the dual filament tail light would have 3 functions. I don't know why I remember some of this strange stuff and if it will ever have a use for anyone.

Yes and I am trying to locate the parts for you as I have found the installation instructions for the conversion kit for the lights. This may take a while.

So far I have located the kit#69200042A for the tour pack lights. On the installation instructions it list additional parts on the chart but minus part numbers. Now my only thought is on the conversion module and the controller from the conversion getting along.

Now while I figure what the unlisted parts are, I'll be digging through a dead file for an installation manual for the MotorTrike Harley Davidson conversion and some schematics for the original electrical and then see how the two set ups can be interconnected without losing the magic smoke. The diagram is what will make them work,
