Noobie from Texas

Not a triker, yet. But I'm leaning in that direction. (no pun intended)
Been riding a GL1800 for about 2 1/2 years and loving every minute of it. I've put over 3K miles on in the last couple years, both locally commuting to work and Ark. Tenn. NC. Tex. road trips. Pull a trailer on most of my road trips and a cooler rack for luggage on local runs. Interested in how trikes handle in the twisties and two-lane blacktops.

morningwing welcome to Trike Talk from oklahoma!! i'm a VW Trike guy I like the way it handles but I don't know anything about GW Trikes though sorry.

I have a gl1500 with a Motor Trike. Love it. Handles as good in the curves as you, as a rider are capable of. Can keep up with most two wheels in twisties. Wouldn't go back to two wheels, although, I do miss the lean in the curves.
Did you mean 30,000 miles in two years? from your itinerary, it looks like more than 3,000. Anyway, good luck in your decision. You do need to be aware of the difference in smoothness between a two wheel and an trike. Two wheel is much smoother, but you can run correct tire pressures and air in your shocks, etc to offset this somewhat.
Good luck

Morning, and welcome to Triketalk, I am just down the road from you and I do mean road as in 79. and have a motortrike 1800 with independent suspension. The ride is different, as you be riding in the center of the road with a trike and you don't need to lean in the curves, although you still can and it might help some, I believe. The most important rule to remember is to NOT put your feet down when you stop.
