Noisy brakes!

I recently purchased a '10 Street Glide trike with about 5K on it. After getting it out of storage, the guy who stored it, a local guy who used to work for an HD dealership, now running his own trike focused shop, said the brakes squeal and that is due to the original HD pads which could be replaced and the noise would stop. I decided to wait on making that switch at the time. But DAMN, the brakes are REALLY noisy! He didn't quote me a price, but made it sound like no big deal. Recently I was at the local HD dealer and he said that HD fixed the problem but that I would need to replace the pads and get new rotors! For $500! I haven't made a move on any of this. I plan on calling the first guy back at some point, but wanted to pick some expert brains on this... Suggestions?

I was just told by my HD mechanic that anyone complaining about rear brakes may now be able to get rotors replaced under warranty or something. I just haven't had a chance yet to talk to Service dept. to try and see if that is true. I have a '10 TG.
And, yes. They are very noisy right now.

I have a 2010 Street Glide trike/41,050 miles on it and the dealer just replaced my
rear rotors on my extended warr. - I had to pay for the new pads though.
