I'm seeing new batteries claiming some impressive CCA ratings. How is it that all of a sudden with a minimal rise in Battery wt. {more lead?} CCA ratings have jumped from basically 310 to 600?

Thanks for your thoughts - jc

Love to give the battery companies credit, but I am going to guess the method of calculating CCA has changed.

Size 30 AGM batteries in the 385-400 cca range are fine for these trikes.

Unless your at 0° degrees, your not seeing cca anyway. The lithium batteries in our size are pushing 35-50 more amps for a battery less than 1/2 the weight. You then have to change your charging system.

When mine goes belly up, I think I'm going with an AGM battery, as they are getting better. Im gonna give the lithium style a few more years of improvement before I test the water.
