Hi Folks, I like to introduce me and my 2015 Tri Glide Ultra, the last one in Magic Black on Europe Stock



My Name is Hans-Peter, I am 50+ and live in Munich, the German city with the Hofbräuhaus, the Oktoberfest and the best, it’s near by the Alps.

I drive on 2 wheels since the age of 15, had a Yamaha SR 500 with 18, after Military Service a BMW R 25/3 (year of construction 1953), it was a lot of reconstruction work, but worth every hour. Then an additional BMW R 75/5, later a BMW R 100 T and as last BMW, one of the last R 100 R build 1996, a really nice bike, but after 2 accidents (fortunately no human damage), my Girlfriend denied to travel any more with it and a couple of years later I sold the Bike, knowing, that it was one of the best Bikes I ever owned.

Then, last year, after a over 10 years break, just in the age of 50, probably forced by midlife crisis ;-), I wanted a Bike. I bought a 2012 Wide Glide and had very nice 12.000 kilometers with it, but unfortunately, at the beginning of this season, I experienced problems with my balance and just got no complete compensation of this problem.
The Bike solution of this problem is a Trike, and what a surprise, a Harley

This thing is a dream!
Picked it up last Friday, I did a nice trip with a friend at Saturday, over 220 kilometers and did yesterday a short 77 kilometer round. Driving the Trike is surprisingly exhausting, compared to drive a Bike, but it is, after the first kilometers, pure fun. What a fortune, that the Company had such a nice solution for my “problem” in the portfolio and I fulfil two requirements for driving a Trike - elder and disabled

Spent 3 plus years living in Heidelberg back in the late 80's. I had an R65 that was dressed out with hard bags and a Windjammer as well as a GS650. Spent allot of time riding along the Nekar and the surrounding countryside.

Looks like nice riding that way. I've been over in Darmstadt a couple times, but only in winter. Not good for renting a bike.

@Keystone: Oh yes, the R65, a former girlfriend had one. A very nice bike, very agile for for a construction of this time, but a little bit difficult to ride, because of the short swingarm, with strong cardan reactions. Heidelberg, never been there, but I heard, it is nice to ride there.

@Bikerbozo: Darmstadt, also nice, and right, in winter not good for ridging a bike

@Ed Hobgood: I hope you have my area in good memory. I think it is one of the nicest parts of Germany, because you have in a relative small area a lot of different landscapes.

Most of the memories are good at least the one I want to remember. You guys have some of the best beer and when I first got there it only took two beers and well lets say I can't remember what happened after that. You have a beautiful country and I hope to make it back some day.

Welcome from Illinois. Ten years without a bike would be murderous torture for me. I can imagine how good it much feel to get back into the windy unobstructed view of nature.

No, just kidding...yes, the beer is good, sometimes to good

And yes, it's nice here, with my return to biking I rediscovered how nice the alpine upland is.

@bustedwing: Oh yes, I enjoy it much, and with every kilometer even more. Still did not searched, but is there a thread to write about the small rounds and big trips?

@Catfish: The 10 years without were not so bad, I stopped biking for some reasons and missed nothing in the time. But after the comeback, every day without some kilometers is a bad day. "Threedom" what a nice word, I have to remember it.
