Just saying hi. New to trikes and GL1800s.
I've had a 94 GL1500 Interstate for 3 years. Only been riding for about 6 years total. Learned to ride in my late 30s in flat and straight Illinois.
My 2003 Silver Stream GL1800 Motor Trike with color matching trailer is my 2nd-1st trike. Yes you read that right. I rode my first purchase home 210 miles and trailered it back the following weekend to do an exchange. Long story short, the initial trike probably has a blown head gasket or worse. Thankfully the dealer was willing to repair or exchange it's valve towards another trike.
I'm still working on getting the bike titled and tagged. Dmv places are so anal about minor paperwork errors. Grrrr.
Regardless I went for a 10 miles round trip to get gas and lottery tickets. I lowered the air ride pressure on the return trip. I'll have to play with the pressure and/or check the trike's heim joints.
The center of both rear wires are worn compared to the rest of the treads. I'm guessing the p.o. over inflated the tires. Thoughts?
The bike has 55k miles and unknown miles on the trike. Though the trike has new brake pads, calipers and air bag spring compressor.
I'll check out the air filter during late fall.
Other than more riding, any tips on getting use to a gl1800 vs gl1500 and trikes in general (besides steering/leaning)?
P.s. also need to get use to heal toes floor board shifter with size 13 feet. I have to angle feet on floor board while not shifting.
