New triker from Ga. I Just converted my HD Softtail Heritage with a motor trike kit.I had my shoulder replaced six months ago due to a motor cycle accident 15 years ago.I was encouraged by the DR.not to ride anymore. So decided to try a three wheeler. I have been riding HD for over forty years. It quite of an adjustment getting on a three wheeler.I have less than a hundred miles on it so far. Iam sure as the shoulder heals it will become easier.

cc, we are so glad you found TrikeTalk! Take your time as you adjust to the new ride, and I think you'll find it will not only become easier but will get to be a real joy! Share pictures and stories and join the fun here.

Welcome aboard, CC! When I got my trike, everyone said to give myself 500-1000 miles to get comfortable on it. I noticed I was right in that ball park, so just give yourself plenty of time to make the adjustment.

And have fun!:D

CC, welcome to "TT", I know that you will enjoy your trike more after every ride. I gave up my Road King, and three years down the road I found my Stallion, and love being back and riding again.

Welcome cc (tempted to add "rider" to that :yes
If you haven't yet, check out the thread "Experienced Trikers" in the General forum. Lot's of good info for newer riders there.
Do yo have a raked front end? Makes things much easier in the curves. I can run much of the roads here in the Ozarks one handed after we put ours on. Have fun! Don't be afraid to ask question, and uh, did I say Have Fun?

Ozarkryder, yes i have 4.5 rake.My biggest problem right now is my shoulder and wanting to counter steer. thanks for your welcome
.

Most folks I talk to that went from a bike to a trike say that the steering is one of the first things to get used to.
Two of the other big ones are the width behind you now - hopefully if you do forget that it will be going over a curb, not pulling up to the gas pump:eek:, and I can say from experience you'll only do that once. The other thing that is that they forget and put thier feet down. Aside from not needing to, if you roll forward a bit it can be quite surprising when those fenders hit your calfs.
