I’m the owner of a new Tri Glide Ultra Classic. I’ve only had it one month, drove 300 miles, and it’s already in the shop. I haven’t noticed anything wrong except the TC & ABS trouble lights came on. I took it to the dealer 6 days ago and still waiting for a diagnosis. I’m curious if anyone else has experienced anything similar.

Tom,you should learn how to read the codes. Most of the time you can clear the codes showing and they will not come back. If they do return, then make the trip to the dealer.

About two months into owning my brand new '21 Freewheeler a "Lost com to ABS" error code popped up. I cleared it and have never seen it since. When I mentioned it to the dealer at my service they billed me a $100 shop time to tell me no codes were present. I won't make that mistake again.

Tom, look here on how to look up trouble codes on your trike, scroll down to the bottom to see how to retrieve the codes

You have a 2 year warranty, I would be complaining to the owner over this

About a year ago, while on a lunch ride, my 2020 did that. I cleared the codes, rode home and forgot about it until just now.

Jack's info on the codes has saved me 3 times that I can recall, but there may have been others. HD isn't getting $100 to tell me about codes past or present.

Re: New Tri Glide Ultra

Thank you all for the replies. I actually figured out how to pull the codes before I took the trike in. It only pointed to a brake sensor issue. While researching I learned about the 2019 recall and I didn’t want to take any chances so I took it to the dealer out of caution. I didn’t expect them to look at while I waited, but after 2 days, several unanswered phone calls then me telling them I’m coming to get my trike is when they finally looked at it. They only told me what I had already learned from the codes I pulled. That was 4 days ago and I still don’t know what the problem is. If they don’t know by Monday afternoon, I’m taking it out of there. With it only being 30 days old and 300 miles, it has to be a warranty issue so if they charge me for anything I’ll be calling Milwaukee while I’m there.

Stand your ground, your trike should have already had the recall done, dont take this crap from your dealer, ask them if the recall has been done, if not they need to make it right

I asked about the 2019 recall and they said there weren’t any issues with the 2022 models when it comes to that recall.

I have a 21 Freewheeler and all is good with it

There are some bad stories out there where some had real serious problems with ABS brake lock up on 19 and early 20 models

HD has finally got the new ECM worked out, no more bad JUJU for now

The dealer called. They expect the part in 2 days. I’m satisfied with that. I think the phone call to HD HQ Customer Care helped.

Tom - did you get your bike back? There may be a recall for the brake sensor. When you were riding, was your cruise control working?

Cruise Control not working properly

It’s funny you asked that. Yes, I got my bike back. They replaced the brake module. The ABS/TC worked for about 300 miles then I noticed the TC and ABS lights come on again. I pulled over, turned everything off, and the lights stayed off for about 100 more miles then it happened again and the dummy lights went off. Coincidentally, I noticed my cruise control acting up. As I was cruising around 60 mph, it suddenly cut off and I couldn’t get it to set again. After about 10 miles it was working again. I took it in for the 1,000mi service and explained everything going on. They found no issues with either the ABS/TC/module or the cruise control. This was only a couple days after the brake light recall notice went out and they said they didn’t have the proper equipment yet to correct the recall. But since I’ve had it back I’ve driven about 150 miles and the cruise control is not working properly. I’m thinking it’s related to the recall.

If the brake sensor is communicating to the Computer/ECM saying that your brake lights are “On” your cruise control will not work and that has something to do with the recall..
