I just bought a 2014 Tri Glide a couple of weeks ago and it’s the first trike I’ve owned, also the first one I’ve ever ridden. Been riding since 1979 when I bought a ‘72 Sportster in my senior year of high school. I owned mostly Harley’s over the years but never was prejudiced against any brand, just started with them and that’s what I knew the most about. Built several Shovelheads in the 80s and 90s, choppers and dressers and still have a ‘78 shovel chopper.
I taught my wife to ride shortly after we got married, on the same Sportster I had as my first after buying it back from the guy I had sold it to. She was a natural, took to it like a duck to water and loved riding her own bikes for the last 35 years. She recently decided she was ready to start riding with me again and I had been considering going to a trike because of bad arthritis in both knees so the decision was easy to make. We sold her ‘00 Heritage, my ‘06 Electra Glide Standard and traded in my ‘17 Indian Springfield. Really hated to get off the Indian because I absolutely loved it but I was starting to have trouble backing it up at times and holding it on uneven surfaces and I sure didn’t want to drop it.
We have been in the Christian Motorcyclists Association for 11 years and really enjoy riding with and being part of this ministry. God has blessed us with the ability to own and ride bikes and we want to use them in His service.
Haven’t had the chance to put a lot of miles on it yet but so far we are having a blast riding it. It definitely takes some getting used to but I got comfortable with it pretty quick and it just gets better every time I get on it. I’ve been looking at a few different forums and think I like this one a little better than some others. I don’t generally post a lot but check in pretty much daily. Looking forward to communicating with you good folks!
