Just ordered a frankenstein kit to put on my 2004 Harley Softail Standard... trying to figure out what to do about the triple tree after I get the kit installed. The company said try it first before doing anything. If I want easier steering they sell a 7 degree raked triple tree. They said to use the standard forks.

But there is all kinds of advice out there...another suggested 9 degree raked triple tree with 6 in. over tubes...Another suggested a 7 1/2 degree triple tree with 4 in. over tubes....

Any other advice?

Welcome Kenny, The more rake you put in the trees the longer forks you will need to keep the trail with in reason. So you are really talking about the look. Most of us HD people go with the 4 to 5 degree with standard forks or only a 1 inch extension.

The more rake the larger the turning circle . U turns become a problem. ( I never make mistakes so I never U turn ) I also have a nice Brooklyn Bridge for sale <LOL> Also the more the rake the easier it is to steer. Sound like a good idea , until you are on a highway at 70 MPH . Seems like the 4 to 5 is a good rake too me . Ask on here you will get nothing but straight answers from those that have been there and done that already.

Frannkenstein, from whom I am buying my kit recommends 7 degree for softail and dyna wide glide and 5 degree for sporster, fxr and dyna.

Sound reasonable? I trust they have done their research.
