new to Trike Talk

Hello all. I'm mew to Trike Talk. I've been visiting for a little while and learned so much in such a short time I decided to join.

Currently my wife and I ride an Ultra Classic I bought new in 2004. It's two tone teal and silver, looks great and is in showroom condition. We love it but it's heavy and hard to manage at stops and low speed turns. I've never dropped it, but I'll be 60 this year and my back is giving me more problems as I'm getting older.

I'm thinking of getting a Gold Wing trike and have been reading about the different manufacturers and installers.

Does anyone in North Jersey or the tri-state area have any recommendations on good and knowledgeable trike shops?

Thanks. You have been very helpful already.

Chris

Welcome to Trike Talk Chris. I seem to recall there is a place in mid NJ that does conversions. I am blanking on their name, but sure someone else will remember it.

Thanks for the welcome. I've been reading about a shop in South Jersey called Ace Motorworks. Has anyone here had experience with this place?

Thanks again.

Welcome to Trike Talk Chris, from S/W Ga. We do get older but the fever never never leaves to ride. :Trike1: :wave4:

Hi Chris - welcome to TT. Finding a good shop also depends on what brand kit your interested in. I have had no personal dealings with ACE, but have heard good things about them. I think they represent/install a few different brand kits (ck it out).

I recently had a Motor Trike conversion done at a dealer in S. Toms River (very close to me - just off Pky Ex 80). It's a "Mom & Pop" type operation called "Motor Lights & Tunes" (originally a "premo" lighting and m/c stereo installer), but is also an authorized Motor Trike dealer.

Cliff seems knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with and runs a neat, clean shop. I am pleased with his work, so far. Also, a good clue, is that his personal, day to day transportation, is a Harley trike. If nothing else, stop by to see him and "talk it over".

Regardless of what brand kit you choose (everybody thinks their's is "the best") you'll love the swith to a trike and won't regret it.

Welcome to the Site, don't know how soon your planning on doing the swap, but if you are planning on wanting to get a real good idea, you can always make the trip to Lake George, N.Y. for Americade. That is held the first full week in June & every Trike Mfg. is normally there and you can demo different ones & talk to the Trike Riders there. Until then I'm sure you'll get all kinds of helpful info here.......Tis
