Hey guys and girls....
I just got a 97 Honda Goldwing with a Champion Kit...The trike is great but I have a couple questions..When I set the cruise there is about a 5 sec. delay before it takes over....It seems like forever but is that normal ????? Also the clock doesn't stay correct when I leave it overnite...It stays good when riding but its memory seems to be short..Sorta like mine !!!!
We are still getting used to it and I've already ordered Hi-way pegs to stretch my legs a little....Does anyone have any thoughts on floorboards and heel-toe shift setups.....Its expensive to do but I like it on my Harley FL.....
Thanks for info....Dave

The clock looses memory? Does the radio forget stations . Does the vol in the head set seem low? Check fuse 13 .... It is bottom right corner. Blue. 5 amp fuse . That is the bike memory fuse. Delay in cruise. Could be slack in your throttle cable. More work fixing than it is worth to fix .

Hey thanks for the info......One other thing..How do I turn on the "fog" lights ??? They are the ones at the bottom of the fairing...They are built in and stock so I know they must have some way to turn on......Another fuse.???? Thanks again...Dave

On my Goldwing, there is a button on the lower left side where all of the radio buttons are. It has a light symbol on it. Hope that helps.

Dave my 90 has a delay in the cruise.I think over time you will get use to it and it will not bother you.Floor boards? If you are talking about what MOTOR TRIKE calls aqua sheilds I have them and like them.Heel and toe personal choice.Lotta bucks.RIDE SAFE
P.S.
Hope to see you at THE RALLY

No button on a 97. The lights you mention are cornering lights unless it is an SE. I can not rember where the button is on the SE. Do you have foot warmers, and a fade knob on your CB radio chan. Changer? If they are cornering lights they come on when the turn signals are used.

Hey John........You got it sorta right...They are cornering lights that come on with the turn signal...But the trike is a 97 SE...But no matter,,,now I know what they are and they do work.......I will get used to the delay cruise thing.
The rear floorboards don't work up and down with the little lever on right of passenger but I'm sure the cable is out of adjustment...I'll work on that when I get back from Ms. and Branson area in a couple weeks......Hwy pegs are on the way now......

Hey Lucky.......I am refereing to the small(?) boards like on my other bike..But like you say, they are expensive so I'm gonna stay with stock pegs and add some hwy pegs out front......Thanks from sunny and hot central Fl. Dave.....

If you want I can set you up so u can add two small buttons $5.00 from Radio Shack to the rear arm rest so your co rider can change stations on the radio from the rear seat.
When you get a chance remove the left side lower cover, u will see 2 tubes .remove the plugs in the bottom and let the dirty water out.

Hey.....So far so good on answers.......Another..I get a lot of hot air on my feet when on the footpegs..Is that normal cause of the motor configuration ??? I put hwy pegs on it (97 GW Champion......I've tried the vent control knob on the right side below windshield but it doesn't sem to make much diff. The little vents way down open and close with the knob........Also..Is it normal to feel wind from the back ??? I get very little air from the front behind the windshield but mostly blows on my back...Will rain go down my neck ???
Thanks...Dave
I'm leaving tomorrow morn. for Memphis and Bronson and Franklin.N.C.

The "delay cruise thing" can be solved by this method: immediately after engaging the cruise, hit the button right above it (resume/accel). This will eliminate the delay. Learned this neat trick from this wonderful forum a few years ago. Try it and let us know...

Ah, and as I mentioned to you (also not wanting to hijack the thread), CSC replaced the aux tank, Honda installed it and so far, so good!

Not interested in the rear radio station change button? I think I can even set you up to have a push to talk rear button for the CB .

You can purchase a simple 2 plug harness that will trun the corner lights on with the key, so they burn all the time. Very easy to do and helps other see you in the daytime, and at night lights up right in fron of you wheel, so no blinding on coming drivers.

Driving lights are driving lights, corner are corner, driving lights face forward corner face forward. BTW if the light burns out you can solder the 2 bulb lugs together and still use the bulb. What I did. I went to my auto parts store, I bought 2 push in bulb sockets like used for dash lights, an LED would work too. I drilled a hole in the rear of the light and put a amber bulb in wired to a 12volt sorce . Now I have to amber lights on all the time, when I take a turn the white light over powers the smal amber bulb ,looks good. 1997 - 98 $ range is $16,000 to $18,000

Hey John.

Heck NO I don't want the wife to be able to change the station.....They have enuf control over us guys already (")... NO to the CB thing for the same reason..(")
I will try the cruise thing next time I'm riding..Thanks..
