I know some of you have been waiting for us to post pictures of the completed build. I wanted to get out & take a few on a ride somewnere, but weather hasn't cooperated. Rain finally stopped & sun peeked out for a bit this afternoon, so I got side covers cut & fit. Stupid thermometer said it was 54* out there, but one of the cats must have been sleeping on the sensor! That little breeze made my ears hurt. I've been away from the cold country long enough the only thing I have anymore to keep ears warm is a brain bucket! After I got covers fit, I snapped a few shots of her all together. Billy, the cat claimed the Ultra for his bed almost as soon as I got it. Not that I mind, it's just it's a pain getting his hair off the red velour seat cover! Consequently, I try to keep the cover on it -- when I remember. SOoo -- there are a couple - three new pix on Lil Pest's album. I tried to get an album put together, but none of the photo programs I have right now will scale the pix down to where I can get them posted.

I am still trying to get some finished pictures of my trike so I can post all at the same time. If you paint your trike all white/gold pearl, our trikes would look almost like twins. VERY NICE LOOKING TRIKE,BUT IT NEEDS PAINT. ULTRATRIKE

Looks like the trike is coming along nicely. Send it out for paint now, and maybe the weather will be back to normal for some serious riding by the time you get er back.

What color / paint scheme are you going with? I like the red and black myself.

Hepengr:D

Color scheme will stay like it is -- "Fire Red Pearl & Vivid Black" with the tribal / Celtic border & maybe more Celtic skulls & possibly another Cobra done in the gold pearl. I didn't like the way the silver pearl worked on the cobra on the faring -- haveta see if we can improve that. 'Pest told me to go for a ride today, that I was getting "cabin feever"! SOoo -- got her out on a nice ride today -- 'bout 110 mi. I just went to the next town South on US 95 -- 50 miles away! I find myself looking through the turns more easily than when she only had 2 wheels. Did some gravel with no problem though the road deteriorated more than I anticipated with our recent rains. Got down right nasty in a few places. Seemed like the front suspension took more of a beating than the rear. Running down the highway at 'bout 3200, she ran free & easy. Could turn loose of the bars & she went straight -- well, she went where she was pointed. I cranked down on the fork bearings to about where I used to before I set preload on cage front wheel bearings. Fall away came out; from all the way right it almost swung to straight, all the way left, it swung to about where it ended up from all the way right. Ran her up into triple digits & no twitchy steering -- felt solid with no more high speed wobble at the same speeds she was a BIG handfull before. Seems I already have a feel for how wide her @$$ is now. When it felt like I was getting close to the center line, I was about a foot away. Only caught myself trying to counter steer once when changing lanes -- 'course that didn't work until I switched directions -- exactly oposite from when she had 2 wheels. Ride wise -- suspension critique -- it's DIFFERENT! Ummm -- not as harsh in the rear even in the nasty stuff I ran into on the gravel road. OH -- got some more pix. If 'Pest posts 'em, the shots of Ms Boudica with the embankment background & gravel road, the white stuff in the background is SNOW!!

There's a "lunch ride" scheduled for tomorrow to Lake Havasu that's almost 300 mi round trip by the way we go. Think I'll be on that one! Mickey Moused up a plug in fo rmy heated gear 'cuz it'll probably be in the 30s when we leave at 7:30 AM. Wish me luck!!

:machinegun: :gah: :innocent: :brushspank: :giggle:

Hepengr -- What?? & miss out on all this nice riding weatner??? Paint can wait 'till it's 120*+ & it's too hot to ride! Figured I'd rig up some tail lights, reposition the license plate, fab up some fenders & keep riding while body was in paint & not miss anymore riding. I've been grounded since Oct! I WANNA RIDE!!

Nana -- What did I tell ya about 'Pest starting to post! We can get into it on line as well as off!! YEAH, tripple didgits -- like 110 MPH!! Dang, but I love that stage 2 engine!! In case ya forgot Hon, 3200 RPM is 80 mph -- in a 65 zone!! Uh -- "Warp factor 3, Mr Scott!"

I could live with a ticket at 80 mph in a 65 zone but if you EVER get a ticket for 110 Mr. Scott will beam your @$$ to another planet Mister. :censored:

:giggle:

Oh Oh we have domestic tranquility in order. NM glad it rides solid. Even though you don't need to go that fast it's nice to know it's there. Great side benefit to get ride of the wobble.

'Pest's bark is much worse than her bite -- even if she did smack me upside the head after reading the "triple digit" bit. That "Warp 9" blast confirmed 2 things -- now have the PCIII working right again & cured the wobbles. Granted, running that fast isn't necessary & it's HARD on the fuel supply, but it is nice to know I can blast by a semi if I need to. Nor would I have tried it right out of the driveway on the maden voyage, but I already have enough miles to know a little about how she handles. It was funny -- I'd just backed off from the high end when I caught up with a cage that started speeding up & slowing down -- maybe 'cus a little bit before, I had been gaining on it like it was tied to a post. I kept my cool & held 3,000, but I sure was tempted to grab a big handfull!! Also ran the GPS to verify speedo -- it has about the same error. Shows 80 when doing 75, & 70 when doing 68. Lower than that it's really close.

nauga mok-
even without paint, it looks really good! wish it was warm enough to ride here, but our snow just melted a couple days ago(was waist deep in some drifted areas).
hope you have fun riding to laughlin, remember us guys that are winterbound while you're on the road. throw a couple bucks in a slot for me-dave

we were in havasu last summer-had to go see the london bridge-had a good time-was 108' that day-would trade that for this cold any day-dave

In Fact, Shiny, we had lunch on the west end of the London Bridge today at Barley's. Decent food, good service & tolerable prices. Was a bit COOL this AM -- 32* when I left about 7:00AM. Tried out my Gerbings jacket liner & sox. They worked great, but need a "Y" connector so I can run both together. :( Ended up either toasty toes or toasty top. Warmed up to the mid 50s after lunch, so trip home was nice. Racked up another 332 miles today. Getting so I'm pushing the bikes in the sweepers. Now, to catch a windy day to find out how she behaves in the breezes. NO derogatory comments from the HOG chapter. Everyone seemed interested in handling, how long it took to build, cost -- by genuinely interested people, gas mileage -- got a spread today from 29 to 34. A good ride on a good day TO ride!

Just a comment on the Harley . a guy in work NEVER been on a trike says to me he pushed his Harley 2 wheeler to 114MPH. I said I have never been over 120 with my trike . NOW He says ( mind you now he has never been on a trike in his life ) I would be afraid to go faster than 80 on a trike. How some people are misinformed on what a trike really is.

Finally found a program on my net book that lets me rescale photos, so now there are now some in my album. Desk top 'puter has 3 photo programs, but none of them will let me resize. Body is in for paint, so I fabed up some temporary fenders because Nevada sez I have to run 'em. Presently building auxillary gas tank while body is off -- when I'm not watching the paint go on. Forgot camera yesterday when we shot the black, so I'll have to get there early tomorrow to get the photo before he starts with the red. Hopefully, we'll get the red & pearl borders & grafix on tomorrow & do clear coat Sunday. GOTTA take Sat off for the annual "Bordello Run"!!

NM

Got the red on today. Had a "Senior moment" & forgot to put memory card back in camera, so missed getting photos of when it was just black & primer. Finaly remembered the camera on my cell phone so did manage toget pix of it right after we moved it back inside. Weather man sez rain tonight, tomorrow, Sunday & maybe Monday. If it rains, that means the pass going to Pahrump will be getting snow. That'll probably scrub the Bordello Run, so we can start the trim & grafix with the gold pearl tomorrow & hopefully shoot the clear Sunday. With any luck, it'll be ready for the "Wall Escort" on Tuesday. If not, then we have 'till the folowing Monday when we escort the Wall to the State line at Prim on it's way to California.

Looks like you chose a good painter the work is real nice. Can't wait to see it done.

Yeah, Dean does know how to use a paint gun. By the way, he lurks around here, so I gotta say nice things 'bout him! At the bottom of the rear fenders will be a Celtic skull like in the first photo on 'Pest's "our soon to be trike album". Then there'll be the same border between the red & black as in the 2nd photo of that same album. Some people call it a "tribal" design, but it's really Celtic. That design theme goes with her name - "Boudica". For those who haven't looked her name up, she was a tribal red headed Queen in England roughly 900 AD. The Romans pi$$ed her off & she ALMOST kicked the Romans out of England. She leveled several cities in England, including what was to become London. One of the Roman Generals finally got smart & made her fight HIS battle & got the upper hand. She & her daughters didn't survive the battle. Some say she comitted suicide rather than face her fate at Roman hands. Ok, now we've had our History lesson for the day!! Can't wait to see the body with the art work & clear coat. Oddly, 'Pest likes the temporary fenders I just slaped together. Since they were to be just temporary, I didn't bother doing a real neat job & just eyeballed & free cut the parts, so the lines aren't straight or even. I guess even after her seeing me be able to take a piece of metal & make something useful out of it after all these years is still "magic" to her.
