Has any one bought the new Motor Trike Independent suspension and if so how do you like it ??? I just pulled the trigger on one and a new bike won't be done for 4 to 5 weeks but would like some imput here... I think it looks good with the air ride and the way its setup .... Thanks, Jerry

I gave it a visual "cursery review" and found it is "over designed". That is not a bad thing but I always look for "sensible design simplicity". Good luck with it and enjoy.

I have the Motor Trike IRS on my 09 Wing and, after playing with the suspension settings, I have been very pleased. I did 5,400 miles on it this summer pulling a Bushtec trailer and had no issues. My mileage is around 32 MPG pulling the trailer at 65 - 75 MPH. Keep it under 65 and the MPG will go up as much as 4 MPG. I did get one tank at 37 with the trailer. The suspension settings are kind of like a new seat.....everyone has their own preferences. I put a new Michelin Pilot on the front within a week of delivery. I set the front tire air pressure to 41 and the rear tire pressure to 20 or 21. I set the air suspension to about 34 when solo and about 38 to 40 when solo and pulling the trailer. The only issue I had was with the ball on the drawbar clearing the nurf bumper.

I did some modification to the draw bar and everything has been great. The overall experience has been great. My first 200 miles was not pleasant as I followed the factory recommendations on air pressure (tires and shocks) As I began to experiment and with the new front tire, I found the combination that I really enjoy and the ride smoothed out considerably. It is very smooth on good roads and, in my opinion, the ride is not very forgiving on rough country roads. Here in Texas, some of our county roads lack good maintenance and with my suspension set like it is, the trike feels the bumps. One of the great things is your ability to add or remove air from the suspension while going down the road. I'm sure you will enjoy once you get to know your new ride. I have had absolutely no issues with the quality. Feel free to PM if I can offer any suggestions.

Gee, thanks Alan .... Info doesn't come much better than that, you gave me exactly what I was looking for....Very much appreciated !!!!

Jerry, Today I spent about 30 minutes looking over the new IRS for the Harley from Motor trike. I was at their display here in Daytona. The setup is almost exactly like the their GW IRS except it uses the drive belt instead of the drive shaft. The unit looks very nice and very strong. If I was in the market I would definitely buy one.

Alan, when you say playing with the suspension settings, are you talking air settings vs the actual suspension mechanical parts? Setting the shocks and air? I think many do not do this and are never "really" happy with their trike ride and handling. Good review, thanks.

I was referring to the amount of air in the shocks as well as front and rear tire pressure. From my perspective, the ride smoothed out for me when I found the air pressure adjustments that were good for me. The new front Pilot tire made a huge difference as well. Thanks....feel free to PM if I can answer any questions.
