new member with a question

greetings,

my name is hal and i live in the silicon valley area of california. long time honda owner / rider,, currently with 4 bikes in our garage - gl1500 is the largest, ct70 is the smallest.

i've recently become interested in the prospect of triking and i'm curious if there is a trike buyers guide / faq to help orient the prospective triker on important ownership / operational issues to consider). if so, i would appreciate a point in the right direction. (i'm not interested in trike manufacturer's literature @ this point.)

thx in advance for your consideration.
btw, a lot of nice looking rides in here

Hi Hal. Actually, you just joined the ultimate trike buyer's guide / FAQ for new trikers! Welcome aboard!!!! Seriously, this forum is a living, breathing wealth of information on every known trike out there. For a good start on general info, go to this link: http://www.triketalk.com/forum/gener...post-here.html
But ask all the questions you want, the answers are here!

Seeing that right now there are about 11 mfg of trikes, and some of them have 2 or 3 versions of their make. The selection is unlimited . And then toss into the mix the mfg of kits you can build then we have the home built and the VW builders we also have some manufactured trike that are not motorcycle based at all. Everyone picked the trike they liked best by either looks, price, ride, brand, etc. You unfortunately are now in that decision process. None are a bad choice. Ask questions and narrow it down. If u can, test ride a few.

Hi and welcome, twobigcats
I am a little new to triking also so I kept reading and checking this forum for answers. I picked a Honda GL 1800 and CSC kit after much reviews. I didn’t want the heat and vibration of some others. These men and women here have all the answers. At least here you will get hands on and real answers twobigcats. Have a great Merry Christmas

Hi Hal & welcome to TT the best place on the net for trike information of all kinds!

Although I'm a Mfg myself, I'd like to point you to a nice little document I've prepared just for "newbies" (no sales pitches in it either! -- promise!). It's called "How To Ride A Motorcycle Trike" and is 6 pages jammed with good advice from all over (including from TrikeTalk itself!)

Click below for your copy:

The Trinity Trike

It is a PDF file so once loaded just right click to save to your PC -- enjoy!!

interesting and helpful, thx very much, bob! (edit: this seems like a good starting point for a doc that could be posted available for download from this site. sanitize it - remove your company / product name / references and put it under a heading of "thinking of buying / riding a trike? download and learn the basics here."

of course, it could be revised over time to include other relevant issues.

thx again, much appreciated.
