New Member-Iowa

Hello, If you have a 2013 Ultra (FLHTCU) you may want to reconsider converting it.
When I got my 2011 Tri Glide I did consider converting my 08 Ultra.
After figuring the value of my 08 and the cost of a conversion trading my 08 in on a new Tri Glide was the better way to go for me.
Also something to consider is if you do convert your 13 how would the conversion effect the balance of your factory warranty and/or your ESP should you have it ?
Also I checked with my insurance company and the cost of my insurance would have been more on an 08 conversion than it is on the factory built Tri Glide. Insurance companys do vary greatly in how they do things so it is always a good idea to check with yours before you actually do anything.
There are even some insurance companys that will not insure a conversion at all but will insure a factory built Tri-Glide.
I'm not trying to influence your decision of what you do. I'm just saying do all the research and home work before you do anything.
I also do know a few others that also done like me and after doing the research decided that trading their Ultra for a Tri Glide was the better less costly way to go.
I'm in Omaha Nebraska and I see your in Iowa. Not sure where in Iowa you are but if your anywhere even remotely close to Omaha I'd be happy to try and help in any way I can if you would like.
Good Luck
Dan

Welcome! :wave4:

I did a cost analysis on converting my 2006 FLHTI versus selling and buying a new Tri Glide, and the cost was about the same. What won me over to the conversion was the looks of the CSC Daytona kit, IRS, a longer/wider wheelbase, plus I already knew the history of my bike and had been very happy with it. So, in the end, my conversion looks a little different from most Harley trikes, and it's setup exactly the way I want it, as I was able to do a lot of powder coating and paint, plus, mechanical reverse and some engine work.

Good luck; half the fun is in the research!
