Greetings from Montevideo, MN. After reading some of the posts on this site, I think I am going to be one of the typical cross-overs to a trike.

MY STORY: I am a retired 66 year old man who has riden cycles on and off for 40 years. I just purchased a new 2010 VN 900 Classic LT . Last August I fell down in my garage and broke my hip. I ended up with three screws in it. My problem now is supporting the weight of the cycle on that left leg. I thought it would get stronger with time and exercise but it is not. I can only assume at my age it is not going to get any better. Hence: I am thinking of going to a trike. I do not want to give up cycles. I just going a new chapter of the American Legion Riders club here in Montevideo and want to continue going on our rides. I am interested in the Honda trikes. Can anyone suggest some dealers I can visit in Minnesota, South Dakoda ETC: to start looking at what is out there for sale. I am interested in a used one.

Thanks for any help as I enter a new phase in my cycle life.

Welcome to TrikeTalk, Lee. You will love a trike! It is still a motorcycle...you can still be part of doing what you love to do...and you will be free of the worry of your injured leg :). Ask any questions you need to; the good folks here will have answers for you.

Lee Welcome aboard. You will love triken. Type in "halfbreedcustoms.com". There Key Largo shop is 2 miles from my house. They have a Minn. shop. Same very nice people. They do all types of trike conversions. Larry is the owner. Last I knew he was still up there. Has not made the snow bird trip yet. Good luck.

Half Breed Customs are 3 to 4 miles south of Aitkin, Mn.
I just had mine done. 2008/1800 Pearl White. Matter of fact, I just put it away this a.m. Our riding season has come to a quick stop.

Enjoy your trike, if you so wish. Your hip will thank you.
