Hello all! I'm a new member from the Rochester, MN area. My wife and I purchased a H-D 2018 Tri-Glide Ultra that is being delivered tomorrow. I hadn't planned on it but we've been looking trikes for a while know and H-D had a good deal on trade-ins so we bit the bullet. I look forward to the bike and to the community.

I do have one gripe. Apparently my existing Sena 20's won't work with the bike and even if I bought the HD wireless module they would be crippled because they are not H-D branded Sena's. That is frustrating, especially as I asked the salesman directly if our Sena's would work with the bike and he said yes! Our answer (rather than putting in about another $1k) is to go wired with the IMC Motorcom headsets. The bike did come with one headset but we have modular helmets and I prefer the mic boom doesn't have to wrap from the outside to the inside of the helmet.

Beyond that I am looking forward to it. I am getting the adjustable backrest and having a lift installed as well.

Thanks,

Tom

Welcome aboard Tom. I think that maybe you need to go to the HD web site for the Sena and see if the program will make a difference. Also check with the HD forums and see if others have posted info on the Sena 20s. Good Luck

I think there are two ways you could go. I think that the 2018 Tri's come with the WHIMS module already installed, so you would have to buy the H-D Sena S-20's headsets for about $500 or you could go with the Sena Freewire system and use the head sets that you have even though you would have to purchase 2 Sena Freewire modules. About the same price either way.

Thank for the welcomes everyone! The salesman is a retired part-timer so he may have been confused. We are going to go wired until we can swing the WHIM with a pair of H-D branded 20S EVO's with any luck I can get the WHIM installed within 30 days for the warranty. I ordered a pair of the iMC Motorcom HS-H130P headsets, they are inexpensive enough and overall get fairly good reviews. My trike did come with the H-D wired headset but I don't care for that style of boom on a modular helmet.

Welcome to TT Tom. May you have many great experiences exploring on your trike.

My wife and I are bringing our trike down there and plan to park our motorhome at Autumn Woods campground by the Rochester airport on July 27th. We are going to go exploring down towards Lanesboro for a couple of days before attending a picnic on Sunday the 29th sponsored by Mayo Clinic for transplant recipients.

Thanks Dave, enjoy the trip! If you feel like getting together for coffee reach out to us. It's great to meet other bikers (or is it trikers?)!

Thanks,

Tom
