Actually, I have been a member here for two years. But health issues have kept me from riding (or modifying) since Nov-2013. I read a lot, but I haven't posted often (10 posts as of now). Grandma always said,,, "You have two ears and one mouth boy. Use 'em that way!".

However, I am planning to be more active here, now that I anticipate riding again in 2015.

I formerly owned a 2010 Spyder RT, but became a Wingnut in 2013 when I purchased my 2003 GL1800 on a 2009 Champion kit. I bought a trike that many would shun. It has a "rebuilt" title. The original 2-wheel version was "totaled" in 2009 due to damage. No damage to front and thus, the trike kit. I did my homework, examined the trike and interviewed the previous owner thoroughly. Very nice folks.

The gentleman owned the 2-wheel Wing, bought it back from insurance, and Triked it for his wife. She never rode it much, and mostly rode pillion on his new Wing. So the 2003 model only had 16k miles and I negotiated a killer deal at the end of 2013 riding season. I plan to keep the Wing a long time, so resale isn't a big concern for me. Besides, the price left me lots of discretionary funds to customize this one "SteveMac Style"!

The trike was spotless, and the black paint looked great until.....I got it. My first trip to the gas station, I was pulling away from the pump and having ridden the Spyder for a couple of years, I thought when my front end cleared the barrier, that I was clear to go. Not. Here's a tip y'all. The Wing trike is wider in the rear than the Spyder...
:AGGHH: Fortunately, only minor scrapes that I think will buff out. But, I was more concerned with riding than correcting my screw up at the time!

So this winter and early Spring, I'll be getting it ready for a lot of riding in 2015. Just gotta get my "work legs" back under me.

I formerly spent a lot of time in SpyderLovers, but I have several friends here on TrikeTalk and I look forward to lots of reading and a few posts of my own here.

I'm in Jackson, MO about 1.5 hours South of St. Louis. Hoping to attend some events and meet folks in the new year.

Now, if I can figure out how to get a sig-pic... I think my privileges must be restricted due to my low status? I can upload to albums, but not in sig or posts. iPad Chrome.

Glad to be here!

Thats some goooood advice right there.
I'd say welcome but heck, youv'e been here longer than me
Glad your getting over the health issues and getting back into it.

Try this to post pics on here, Do you see the paperclip above the posting box on the top line by the little smile?
Click on that and browse your computer for a picture or a document you want to post, It HAS to be in the JPG format and if it is to large you may have to reduce it if the forum wont do it for you but try it for luck, follow the instructions and you may get a harmonious outcome?

There are some good free picture resize programs you can download off the internet I use Pixresize.

To put up a signature picture etc. go into your settings (at top of the page? and look for what you wish to add IE picture, signature etc. again JPG format?

Thanks. I don't see a paper clip tho. On the other forums, I can click on the photo icon (between the filmstrip and remove link) on the toolbar. I'll try to insert that image here, but it won't let me browse to my local device, I only have a URL option.

OK. Just tried and I do have a computer option now in addition to the URL. Uploaded pic below. I'll have to check again. Maybe sig is working now too.

Im sure that option wasn't there before, but I wouldn't bet my life on it!

OK. Looks like I can post images to a post, but not to a sig line. Here's what I saw on my profile, and then the pic below shows only the URL option. No biggie! But thanks for the ideas.

Haha! Love it pcombe!
huge Gunsmoke fan here. And still watch it almost everyday in reruns. Brings back TV nites when I was a kid. Mom would fix cheeseburgers with grilled onions in a big cast iron skillet, and heat the buns at the end in the skillet while the cheese melted. She'd fix a big can of Kelleys Hot Tamales and we'd have RC cola. Then everybody shut up (or got smacked by Pop) and we watched Gunsmoke and ate that "healthy" food.

LOL great memories. I miss mom, but Pop is still with us at age 92. ThumbUp

I can't post to my sig-line, but here is my trike prior to being SteveMac-ified.

I plan on powdercoating, painting and plasti-dipping until I have transformed this into a "BlackWing"!

Im hung up on Gunsmoke because my dad and Matt Dillion could be mistaken for each other but dad was bigger in real life.
I lost him some five years ago but moms still with us and still wont let a cowboy make the coffee.

Its been in the 50 degree temp range this week here in Wyoming which is highly unusual, I had put my trike in mothballs for the winter a month ago and just couldn't stand it.
Took it out of mothballs just so I can get a few more miles this year.
What the heck it's supposed to snow again sat. but it's worth it!ThumbUp

Hello Steve and welcome to the website from the U.P. of Michigan. I hope that you can get your problems ironed out, but I believe someone can help you out if not. I usually recommend to new trike riders to practice in an empty parking lot, but if you have been in the weeds for awhile then you already know that. The practice is so the new riders get used to turns in both directions and the wide rear end. Ride safe.

I can't post to my sig-line, but here is my trike prior to being SteveMac-ified.

I think it would look good Green :laugh::Santa::Santa:
I still owe you a ride on the Beast, I let my nephew ride it up and down the road Thankgiving and he fell in love.

Well Mr. Mac. I can see by your activity on Triketalk that you are beginning to feel a lot better. Looks like we
can start thinking about ride plans for 2015. Gary and I will head to the garage this weekend and turn the engines over and dream a bit.
