just heard Wed,the 21st. that testing was being done on the h-d trikes. They are raising the tour pack 3/4" & the seat by 3/4" .This is said to allow the air to pass thru & help pull the heat away from the rider.I was wondering if anybody else has heard anything about this?

1st I've heard of anything like this, they should be looking for ways to move the dead air that gets trapped by the rear section.

I just raised the tour Pac/shocks last weekend and can raise the seat (Air Zepplin seat). I don't see or feel any difference.

I doubt H-D will spend any money to help reduce heat buildup on TG's when they are selling every one they can build as is.
Maybe as an extra cost option.
They sure haven't done much to reduce heat on all the other bikes for the last 10 years - why start now?

Harley do something for the good of it owners.. for free? Seeing is me fainting and waking up in front of Saint Peter!

But, anything is possible I guess as the heat issue is a good reason for me to park it in the summer months which sucks as the Ultra is better looking than the Honda by a long shot!

Same thing with the Corvette. Always have always will beyond the reach of the average person. I have both and I'm glad they do because I feel like I've got something special that most people don't have and wish they did. It makes you want to work harder to get those toys and I feel like I've accomplished something in doing so - it pushed me to work harder to get something I really wanted. JMHO ThumbUp

WOW!! this thread came back after almost 3 years. :D

Nothing like a moldy oldie. When you start looking at price, HD isn't that awful expensive. A Honda Goldwing equally equipped cost more than an Ultra LTD, buy a new Goldwing and then trike it and your going to be close to $8,000 - $9,000 more than a Triglide. If a person is willing to buy a Triglide and not make changes, its one cheap date vs buying a new 2 wheel bike and then triking it with a good quality kit.

Where Harley gets you is clothing, accessories and service. A lot of people with the Harley mind set will buy branded clothing like its going out of style, they'll add accessories and chrome at a blistering pace, most of which is installed by the dealer at a pretty penny.

Your right Mike on the cost of the Honda conversion vs. the tri-glide. But I wonder what the cost would be if they built them in house.
As far as the clothing goes, I haven't bought any H-D apparel in over 10yrs. I have two large yard garbage bags full with old & new T's, That are going to be made into a quilt maybe two if I have enough.

These days it might be a wash if Honda was to build one. Up until HD decided to gyp the folks buying the 2014 and later Triglides by removing the CB, the Wing had cost more if equipped the same as a Harley.
