Have 2001 GL1800 with Roadsmith conversion. Year? Have bad shimmy in rear body when decelerating. Been to website wih little help. Need suggestions on problem (worn bushings or rear attachment bars?) located now in Pueblo CO area right now. Have found many supposedly full dealers just do installations. Anyone know this area?

Phil do you have any idea how many miles is on the conversion? The reason I ask is because I'd take a hard look at the drive shaft U-Joints if I were you. Even before they start making lots of racket due to pending demise, they will often cause vibration upon deceleration. After the load is released they are free to flop around a bit and that caused the shimmy or vibration. I know nothing about the particular U-Joints used but any good part supplier should be able to measure them and find replacements.

Short of that being the problem, I have found the guys at Roadsmith very helpful so a call to them at (800) 331-0705 is a good idea. Hope you get that issue resolved PDQ. :xszpv::xszpv:

What he said.

I have talked with Doug at Roadsmith. He was very helpful and agreed it is probably driveshaft or U joint problem. Have repair appt set. thanks for all the help

Glad to hear that Phil! Post an update when you can. We like to hear about the fixes way more than the failures.... :xszpv: :xszpv:
