NE Rally weather report

I just found out we will be pulling boats out of both of our locations over the next two days, so I will not be able to make the rally tomorrow. Damn storm. I know some people are coming from some distance (I only have 100 miles) but with great riding weekends in the months of September and October do you think it would be possilbe to have another meet up in a few weeks? I mean this kind of storm only comes along once every couple of decades. If the goal is to get as many riders and people to meet and greet tomorrow is not the day. Just throwing that out there. Ken

It took me 5 months to round up this crew. Took me 3 months to get this Sat off. Now IF I come, wife insisted we take the car. I am bumbed out. Maybe next year we will try it again.

Me & my wife, Big Dog (& little dog), Leo3wheel & wife are now in Sturbridge and aiming for Applebees at 6pm. we will reserve a tablefor 12 not knowing how many are showing. see the rest of you tomorrow. almost forgot. Tis on way also. just called. If I got the name correct.Cheri expected around 6:30pm.

I hate that Irene is complicating this for you guys, but you are sure going to have enough there to have a great time meeting-n-greeting! Travel safely and tip one up for me :D

Hey John, latest weather as of 3am says no rain at all until 3-5pm up this way. And even for me getting back to LI doesn't look to heavy. Maybe you will talk the missus into riding after all.

I only know who said they will not be there. Buggie pilot may show up. We had 17 trikes as of last Friday and about 30 people . I only got cancellation from 4 or 5 trikes /motorcycles

Started to rain here... Bike is out and car is in . I would need the trailer with everything I am bringing with me this year. Note to self trailer is a must next year. :gah:

Great pictures leo. and this is the other group that meet at the Guabbin Tower and rode to Teresa Italian Rest. for dinner .

That is tis with both trophies Farthest traveled 409 miles and peoples choice. along with the rest of the raffle prizes .I couldn't get the videos to up load will work on that next week. that is jonsey taking a picture of the group. Sneaky spy camera shot.

Great pictures guys! What a fine group you are :) :). Congratulations, tis, on your awards! And I think you all are winners since you braved a hurricane to be there.

Note to self - "Riding in the rain SUCKS!!!" Harley boots hold the water really well!! :D

Guess you answered my next question: Has the storm started to show itself up there in your area?

Not really. We had showers off & on this afternoon, but the effects from Irene aren't supposed to hit here for a few more hours. Forecasting heavy rain & thunderstorms tonight possible, getting worse by tomorrow morning.

Yahoo. Way to start a vacation. :(

Tis won all the awards and I....Got voted Back On The Island. Long Island, that is. Ferry's all cancelled. Had to ride back through NYC. Did the piddling 200 miles in 4 hrs. The really good rain and wind kicked up just outside NYC. Road over a pretty high bridge wasn't that bad. I don't even rate this in my top 20 wost storms I have ridden through. The roads were empty (go figure). BTW, I wear Cruiser Works boots. They are 100% waterproof. Look them up on line. And the boots are now made in the USA. If I don't loose power, I will try and post some of my pics. It was really great meeting everyone.

Bozo, from what I see on the news, you won't get the main storm for some hours yet. Glad you got home before it got bad :). And very glad to hear you had a good time meeting everyone!

You guys are true trikers, & I am glad all went well . I would of been there if we didn't have to take the pirates in, the light house down , all the flags in . Oh, & the big white whale , we put two more straps around him & the rocks to help hold him up there . Now if you hear on the news, Moby Dick returns to the ocean , lol you will know my straps didn't hold .
I did think of you guys today , thanks for the pictures . Every thing here went good, & we got alot done . Someday we will meet, & when we do, JOHN, YOU CAN STILL RIDE MY STALLION. OK, lets pray we all stay safe while Irene make her way up the coast, & hopefully she dosn't want my whale for dinner. thank again Captain h

Just checking back in sorry Tis I could not tell from the picture who it really was. tis & NY triker are held up someplace near Albany tonight . No rain there to speak of . He should be fine . Bozo glad to see you made it home safe and sound. YES I bought grate boots one of the 1st pair of Cruiser Works boots in 1999 out of the owners ( Allen and Beth ) garage in N.H. . I still remain in contact with them .I and honey had a great time . I hope everyone posts their own pictures . I am working on some video I took . Should be funny, I took it with the spy camera . Nobody know I did it .

Thanks Captain we missed all of U . Wish the weather would cooperate but this is NE after all. Thanks for the offer I may take you up on it sooner than you think. i tried to steel this jacket but she kept pulling it away from me . I thought when they make the new Lowe's poster of me , I would look good wearing it .

Yep...we faced Irene and spit in her eye. Hit some pretty heavy rain just south of Albany so decided to motel it for the night in Johnstown NY. Today road 250 miles in wind and rain. Just East of Rochester it stopped. Pulled into the driveway around 4:30 PM and the sun was shining. All in all had a great time and dam glad we went. All you folks are the salt of the earth...looking forward to next year. Thanks for a great time.
Cheers,
Greg

Back Safe. Like NYTRKR said we got home around 4:30 this afternoon. Yesterday after we all ate Road Dog (Dan) & his wife Deb showed us the way to get on Mass. Pike it started raining and did'nt stop we really got blasted going through Albany, so we pulled into Fultonville/Fonda & got a room. Got up early this morning and rain was coming down sideways & windy. Was sorry to see Big Dog & Miles leave early, also Leo & his wife had to leave, we had a good time and the way I look @ it we all met as Friends & left as family, also it worked out for me that I had to wear my raingear home, that gave me more room to store my Trophies. Hee Hee, Serious thanks to Spirit Dream & John for getting the goodies & also to Dan for picking a great place to eat....tis
