My poor puppy

Thanks. We made a donation to Canine Cancer Research for him. I hope one day we cure this awful disease.

Sorry for your loss--- its funny how we think of the past as to our previous pets, makes one sad. Then when your new buddy comes to you wondering whats wrong makes it all the better.

Carol, sorry to hear of your loss.

I wish both you and your husband the best during the healing process.

Thanks everyone. This was a huge shock. One day he started limping so we took him to the vet. They diagnosed him with an aggressive form of cancer and gave him two weeks to live. He made it three weeks.

I feel your pain my friend. Now my 8 month old Golden has severe hip dysplasia. Both hips.

Oh no! I'm sorry. My 12 year old Lab has diabetes and is blind. She has been sick but a happy girl for a couple of years now. We treasure every day we have with her.

8 months is so young. I wish you and your Golden well.

Our pets are way more than just animals, they are integral parts of our families, they are our confidants, our best friends, and our biggest fans. I know, without doubt, your pet was very lucky to have you in his life and he knew that if anything could be done to spare his passing that it would have without hesitation.

I extend my deepest condolences for the devastating loss of such a bonding love.

As you can tell, a lot of us have dear pets, and I am included. 2 years ago I had to put down a dear dog that greeted me every morning with a wagging tail and a love only she could give. But I didn't know she was sick, and in more pain than I could imagine. The Vet that did the shot had worked with me on the rescue squad , and said, " we have been thru a lot of stuff thru the years and I have never seen you cry, until now" It is like loosing a child. I swore that I would never go thru that again, but a month later my wife found a Shie itzu puppy that the owner could not take care of, now he is my little buddy!!

sorry for you loss, Darlene and I know how hard it is and how much you miss him. we loss our little Yorkie last year, she was 11 years old. very, very hard, but it will get better with time. We feel for you Jr. & Darlene

There are a lot of people that don't understand the relationship between a person and his four legged best friend. They are sometimes more than pets. They become family members. They become your children after your children are grown and gone. They never complain. They have feelings that us humans can't possibly understand.

I have had many dogs over the years and each one I have loved dearly. And I have grieved when I have lost one. The only consolation is that they no longer suffer. But that rarely fills the void when one is gone. My heart goes out to you because of your loss.

We are so sorry.
We know how you feel.
All of our dogs have been our children and closest friends.
We don't find that time heals our pain of loss but we do eventually run out of tears every time we think or talk of them - almost.
Take care.

(currently 4 fur babies AND NO MORE !)

Carol, I am sitting here with tears for you and your hubbys lose. To share life with our fur babies is definitely one of God's great blessings. My Sheltie and our Bichon Frise/Poodle mix both are not youngsters anymore. We cherish every day we have with them.

Sorry for your loss.

Condolences to you both on your loss.I know its hard I like most her have lost my share of pets and I understand what you are going through.

Sorry for your loss, Carol.
We just lost our little 14-year old Chihuahua about 2 months ago.
We never really realized how much a part of our life she was until she was gone.
She had a seizure that she couldn't pull out of.
She was faithful right up to the very end.
She nuzzled in my arms and looked at me with those loving eyes as she went to "sleep".
It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life.
We're still struggling over her being gone as she's left such a huge void in our lives.
We know the pain your feeling and sending prayers your way.
Stay strong.
LJ

Thank you all so much for your stories and well wishes. They mean a lot to me and my husband. We will always miss our Frodo. He was one of a kind. When you first get a pet, love is the easy part. At the end it is so painful. Worth every minute but painful.

Thanks again.

Carol, I'm sorry for your loss, my brother had to let his Bella cross over the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. We all love our pets and believe that they are better off free of the pain and suffering that they were in at the end with us.
