Hi All,

I have a black 2024 Freewheeler and have put about 400 daytime miles on it. Last night, I put about 50 night time miles on it. I realized very quickly that the factory headlight is sub-par on the curvies. Just like my 2015 Jeep--which also had horrible factory headlamps, I am looking to upgrade.

On the Jeep, I switched to the JW Speaker lights and they have been amazing! Amazing but expensive . . .but Amazing :)

I started looking at Harley options, and they offer a DayMaker Projector Headlight and a DayMaker Reflection Headlamp (newer version.)

Now the interesting part-- Harley's offerings-- Projector lamp is made by JW Speaker, whereas the Reflector version is made by someone else.

Any feedback on Daymaker Projector (JWSpeaker) versus Daymaker Reflector versus somebody else? Any extra mounting rings or adapter cables needed?

Anyone who has done headlight upgrade on a recent model Freewheeler, what ya got? How ya like it?

My '18 has had the JW Speaker Dual Burn since new. My passing/spot/fog lamps are Chicom erzatz lamps that match the lamp color of the headlight and fit the police '05 Electra Glide buckets/ rack I bought off fleabay. This time of year I ride mostly at night.

Old Road Dog-- did you need to order any mounting plate or wiring adapters etc. or was it just drop-in and ready to go?

The Freewheeler is a Roadking so any light bar that fits the RK will work. It just mounts in the same spot as the windshield. The '05 police Electra Glide also works. There are threads on this site that explain how to wire up the lamps. Just some automotive wiring,a switch- I like the lighted marine rocker switches and upgrade the TE Conectivity connector under the tank to a Weatherseal if you want.

Real quick: on the LH side of tank, underneath there is a caddy.Your switch connector is there usually hanging out. The fog lamps are switched via the BCM. Your lamps are powered via the LH signal lamp...the connector under the mount is used. Slots 5&6 are empty. Note: HD for schematics purposes calls these auxiliary lamps.Another note: when I first did this the dealership techs said it couldn't be done. But the wiring schematics showed the connector 109A, and the open slots clearly labeled.

My bike had a custom dynamics pro beam true beam headlight and definitely is a good light and bright. Not sure how stock was but considering it would have been halogen I’m sure it was bad.
