My 110ci dream is crushed...well, for a year and 11 months

Good evening, all.

I received a very nice response to my e-mail to HD regarding the warranty if I upgraded my FW to the 110ci Stage V. I was advised that while the 110ci can be added to the FW/TG, it was never intended for them which is why the HD website states the kit does not fit trike models. I was further advised that it is for that reason the factory warranty will not apply to the engine.

With all that in mind, and my natural disposition to not wanting to void a warranty, I think I'll just hold off until October of '18 before I have the upgrade done. Naturally, however, if the trikes get the 114 M8 by that time, I may just go to that. I'd hate to let go of my twin cam, though.

See if they will let you put a 110 crate motor in and keep the warrantee. I know someone who has a 2013 with that motor installed when it was new. And they have covered the motor for a head replacement when the mounting bolt broke off in the head.

Most welcome, desert. I had a call in to my local shop's service manager and sales manager, but they were out for the week. Being impatient, I decided to go to the source. Received calls from both managers yesterday, however, and both told me the same as HD corporate. At the very least, I am satisfied that I am not receiving different answers from different folks.
