I want to add an MP3 player to my 1800 where the old CD player hooked up so I can use the controls for the CD to run the MP3. All the players I looked at on Ebay and Amazon say not to use if you have navigation. My bike has navigation but I don't see any relation to the MP3 player on the hookups. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks in advance for any help! Bobby

Most likely they are thinking all GPS units use the AUX AUDIO input under the left pocket to feed audio to the bike system. If you have onboard GPS that is not the case. BikeMP3 makes a player that does plug into the OEM CD player connections. I have no personal experience but a lot of them are used. I am sure someone will chime in here..

If you do not have anything else plugged into the AUX AUDIO input and don't necessarily want lots of control while riding then any player with a 3.5mm headphone output can be used to feed the bike audio system. :xszpv::xszpv: :xszpv:

mp3 player

I have a digital music player made by Bike MP3 that I got from Wingstuff.com . I've got this on 2008 gl1800 with navigation and have had no problems , it plugs into existing cd player wiring. when you order be sure to get the one for the nav equipped bike there is an additional piece to do a reset on the gps , I think these players only work on 2001 to 2010 models.

I have one of the first MP3 players from GL2way. I was also sent a reset unit as once in a while it gives a "no disc" message on the screen. It does have something to do with using Nav &/or the aux. "buttons"!
There was also a concern of units that would not shut off and ran the battery down.
My understanding is later units have something in them to "handle" these concerns.

Just found out GL2way does not sell direct to the public any more!
Sadly, I have sold my trike or I would be ordering one of these updated units!

Well, can't edit my prior post!!!!!
Anyway, where my post states GL2way, apparently it should have been BikeMP3!!!! Seems when I search for the original co. name of GL2way, all I get is error messages!!!!!!!
Company used to market CB's for the Wing also

Thanks for the help

I could order one from wingstuff but they are on backorder. I may order one anyway because old man winter will be around for a few more months so the wait won't be a problem.:( Bobby:(

I ordered this one:
Tengchang Digital Music CD MP3 Changer Player for Honda Goldwing GL1800
from Amazon

Cheaper version than others, ~$75, but it was in stock, so I ordered it.

Works like the bikemp3 version, not for NAVI though. Up to ~1000 songs possible. So far it has worked well. You can use the Wingstuff software to populate a SD card into folders.

Works for me.
