Motor Trike rear pulley "flange"

Hi - I have a 6 year old Motor Trike kit on a 2003 V-Rod. Just had the aluminum flange crack on the rear axle which allowed the rear pulley to move back & forth about 1/2". Very noisy. Got it home safely. Anyway, has anyone else had this happen. Motor Trike will fix it for free (instead of having to buy a new rear end for $3500 but I have to pay freight from MD to TX and back. Plus, I will have to pay the labor at the dealer for tearing it down and putting it back together. Sounds like a design problem. Rumor has it that the flange is now made of steel! Would like to hear from anyone who has had this happen.

Thanks.

Hi Sherry..... OUCH about the crack!! but it is good to know that MT is giving you a replacement. I'm sure some of the members will chime in with information for you.
Welcome to TrikeTalk! I love the look of the V-Rod in a trike and would sure like to see a few pictures of yours .

You did it perfectly, Sherry . I've always preferred the look of the traditional HDs more than the V-Rod..... until I saw a V-Rod trike a year ago. And after seeing yours in this picture, I am re-affirmed in my thinking that they are darned good looking!!!

It sure does turn heads! Just about everyone that sees it feels the same way as you - not crazy about the V-Rod itself but like the trike! My husband gets jealous cause they don't look at his bike.
