I just got back from a 190 mile round trip to Leola Motor Trikes in Leola, Pa. This is actually the first time I was in Amish country. I actually saw 5 horse drawn buggies on the roads there. The hills there went up and down and up and down. There were beautiful farms everywhere and tons of cows and horses. I very nice ride from Delanco, New Jersey. While I was at Leola Motor Trike I spoke to a few people that were having work done on their trikes. I also spoke to the owner, Ron Meyers and the office personnel. John, who is one of their mechanics helped me pull off some old chrome edge molding that ran around the back wheels. It was damaged by the previous owner, but only slightly. We installed a new molding that is much heavier and a slight bit wider and therefore covers the slight crack in the fender. It looks like something banged into it.

This place is a very nice place to do business. All the employees were very helpful in answering all the questions I had for them. Anything that I wanted to know about my Lehman trike, they were able to answer them also. They do Harley and Goldwing trikes plus they do the trike setup for the Burgman Scooters. They had all kinds of trikes there for custom painting and chroming. In addition they have a gentleman that does air brushing. What a beautiful job he does, and he is reasonable with his pricing.

We were discussing the proper air pressure for the Honda Trikes. He agreed with the 22-24 psi in the rear tires and 41 psi in the front. They told me they never heard or used the Battleax BT45's and not much on the MPA's. They normally used the Metzeler 880's. I mentioned to him that most of the riders on TrikeTalk are using the BT45's with very good results and also the MPA's. He is going to check out the other two tires. I was also asking about the difference between IRS and solid axle. He did agree that the IRS is easier on the bumps and also slightly better in the turns, especially at faster speeds. I also mentioned that Harley is making there own trikes and will be using the Lehman solid axle kits. I enjoy my solid axle, especially since I have never driven one with IRS. It handled beautifully today for the entire 190 miles. I was asking Ron Meyers (owner of Leola Motor Trikes as to how much is the basic starting price for Motor Trike kits added to a Goldwing. He said they start about $13,500 for the basic kit INSTALLED on your Goldwing GL1500 or GL1800. If you want more then just the basic kit, then the price will go up. Lots of lights, chrome and do dads will bring up the price. Bling is good. LOL

That's about it for now.Time to take a break and have a bite of dinner. Hope to hear from all of you.

I just wanted to mention that after 4 hours in the saddle I was just fine when I got home. Does this mean that the GL1800 trike is actually comfortable to ride ? LOL. I guess so.

Motogordo,
Did he say anything about mounting the Metzeler 880 rear in reverse fashion when used up front? Did you ask him about using balancing beads in the front tires for better wear and reduce cupping? We were close on the tire pressures!
Great thread! Thanks for the info!

He is mounting them backwards. I forgot to ask about the beads. Sorry. He also said the increased pressure in the front (41psi) will also help keep the tire from cupping.

I also want to mention that Leola Motor Trikes company also does the triking for Suzuki and Honda Scooters. I saw a trike kit come in today for a Suzuki Burgman waiting to be triked.:GL1800:
