Membership... What are our TRUE numbers?

On January 22nd, I started a thread, congratulating our forum for achieving the remarkable growth of 10,000 members strong in a relatively short period of time. Today, I checked our numbers and found the number to be 9553. What's up...? :Shrug: What are our TRUE numbers? Has there been a mass exodus in the last 30 days? :xszpv: I don't think so...! I realize there has been some reorganization of the site, as of late, but would that be the reason, possibly a site administration error on some type? Just curious, but would anyone care to comment?

Our member count is currently 9,553 but as of today the actual number that has officially registered and joined since we started the site is 15,004 + about another 3000 that were deleted or blocked by us or our anti-spammer security software. We prune inactive members from time to time to both save data space and get an accurate active member count. We just did that about two weeks ago, thus the reduced count. If you mouse over the newest member at the bottom left of the forum page a grey box will appear showing the latest member registration number. That is the number who have registered and their membership has been approved so that number is actually around 15,000 currently.
