master cylinder adjustment/Goldwing

I have a Goldwing 1800 with Motor Trike IRS with disc brakes.

When I apply the brakes to the rear wheels, the pedal goes down to a firm stop. It appears that the plunger is stopped because of the adjustment on the threaded shaft at bottom of cylinder.

Obviously the brake cylinder has to push more fluid because of the two rear wheels.

Is there anything wrong with me making an adjustment on the threaded shaft which would allow the plunger to travel a small amount further into the cylinder causing it to push a larger volume of fluid?

Thanks for your advice.

you can adjust that rod..but it's not going to push farther into the master cylinder..what it will do is raise the height of your brake pedal. when mine was triked it seemed like i was pushing my foot down to far that it felt like my brakes were mushy. i adjusted mine so the pedal was about a half inch higher than it was originally that helped alot. brakes are firmer now..

bumlbe......Please forgive, but I'm not quite sure if I'm following the question.

Is it that your rear brake works O.K. but that you're wondering if you can improve upon the braking action ? Or do you feel that the brake isn't working properly and needs more fluid pushed to correct it ?

3W-lonerider is correct as regards the rod adjustment being used to change the brake pedal height.

If your brakes are working sufficiently and safely, please disregard. But if you feel that the brake isn't working well enough, have you checked the fluid level in the brake reservoir ?
