These are main bearings. They show damage from transmission-metal. The metal is mixed with and flowing in the oil. On this Wing, it is caused from a wearing transmission. For a couple of years, this customer continued riding after he first noticed that his Wing was ghost shifting. Like many riders, he thought his transmission issue was caused from his "miss-shifting."

That sucks. What does the crank look like?

Our main bearings are designed to capture metal. Unfortunately, that means that the crank get scored too. However, the journal in our crankshaft are extremely hard. The most I've ever had to do is to have the journals polished.

As far as other parts showing wear, often the oil pump get damaged and needs replaced too.
