lube procedure

I'm confused about the lube procedure for my MotorTrike drive shaft. The manual says to lube it every 6K, but some are saying they also remove the drive shaft at the same time. I don't have a lift so I'm hoping I can get to the fitting and get by with just greasing it that way.

if it is on warranty, i will go to dealer once a year,,,,so they can greace it and inspect at the sametime,,,
