Three of us from Louisiana are going to try a Bunburner October 2 & 3rd. Will be south of Birmingham around midnight on the 2nd. We will need to take a nap for 4-6 hrs. Anyone got an idea where to stop? Looking at somewhere around McCalla, Alabama.

No, we will only have 6 hrs at best to get some rest. Depends on the progress we make to that point as to how long we can spend.
excuse my ignorance, Is a bunburner a long ride in limited time? Thats my guess based on this post

Yes, a bunburner is 1500 miles in 36 hours. Click the link below to find more information on all the Iron Butt rides. I have been thinking about doing one for years but never got past the thinking stage until one of the members on this site suggested that he too wanted to do one. We are making plans now. I can't wait to try it.
We will actually be doing a combination of two rides. The Iron Butt (1000 miles in 24 hrs.) and the Bun Burner. Which is why we will be looking to find a resting spot somewhere south of Birmingham (our 1000 mile mark).
