This past week while vacationing, I seen a 3 wheeler with a little basket that held a small cooler that went into the reciever for a hitch. Does anyone know where this small "basket" can be found?

Welcome to TrikeTalk. Take a look at this ebay link: hitch cargo carrier | eBay
There are many here, and most of them may be larger than what you are looking for, but I found one there this sumemr that works perfectly for a cooler or for one of the Totes plastic crates -- no more than 30" wide.
You can also do a Google search for a hitch rack designed for ATVs, as they are a little smaller than those made for cars. Good luck :)

Thanks! I will definately check that out! We have a small trailer that we pull behind for longer trips, but for smaller "weekend get-a-ways" it would be nice to have a small cooler to have with us!

You will find that most of the commercial ones are too large, but you can build one on your own. All you need is a section of square tubing that will slide into your receiver hitch and then mount a support plate, or small rack/basket on the tubing. Sorry I don't have pictures of the one I built.....but I sold it with the trike. I could simply slip mine out of the receiver and take it into the motel room. It's not that complicated and you can build your own for just a few $ with some imagination, a little hardware and simple hand tools.

Give me the ID of your hitch receiver and size of the bottom of your cooler and i will fabricate you one---50.00 plus shipping

I have actually made a few of these. We have quite a bit of "drops" in our metal fab shop to do them with. We paint them black --look pretty good !!

I made one completely from aluminum bar and plate and installed a tour-pack rack on it. The whole thing hardly weighed 7-8 pounds. BUT....I have a good neighbor with a TIG welder too.

We made ours with 1/8" angle iron with an expanded metal deck---never weighed one but wouldn't think they were much heavier than that

Thanks meredog!! We just got the cooler rack that you built today!! It's exactly what we wanted! The service was UNBELIEVEABLY FAST!!! Thank You once again!!!
