Looking at new heated seats

I am considering getting the heated seats and grips.
I have a 2008, GL1800, that does NOT have factory heat.
Shopping on line gets rather confusing, so perhaps there are some suggestions...

I just bought a used OEM heated seat and passenger backrest. I also got two Warm&Safe controllers to adjust the heat for passenger and driver. Works out great. I didn't have good luck with heated grips on a previous motorcycle (didn't warm up very much) so I got heated glove liners that plug into my heated jacket. Everything is now pretty toasty.

When I brought my trike over from Ohio I purchased a Kuryakyn Mustang heated seat. It has been great for those early morning mountain rides where it can be quite cool around the nether regions.

Buy a heated vest. You will get all the benefits and a lot less money.

Agree w/heated clothing vs. heated seat and grips.
I have the Comfort Package on my Wing. All I can say is my palms nor my bottom are what get cold!!

How true that is... fingers are the worst offender for me.
This may be the better idea. I suppose there is a place to plug the heated clothing in, other than the 12volt cigarette plug.
FRR: Heated vest, gloves just might be all that is needed.

Any heated clothes better than others?

The missus and I have Gerbings and if you have any issues just call them and youll be taken care of. I have the comfort package on my 07 and the heated seat is nice but on the grips I still wound up getting heated gloves because the outside of my hands would get cold even with lined gloves. The only other things I would recommend is you get a Powerlet wireless controller so you can put it where you want. I have mine mounted on top of the clutch master cylinder for ease. And I also ran my power wire between the front of the seat and top shelter so I plug in between my legs and the wire doesnt rub on the bike. Also another suggestion would be dont get the vest get the full liner. Youll find once you get any air down your arms no matter how warm your chest is your body will get cold.

Gerbing's the best. I have the jacket liner, hybred gloves and FirstGear pants liner and wireless remote for the whole setup. I love the wireless controller. I also have heated grips. I don't have or need the heated seat. I guess I'm lucky that I don't have any feeling in that area.
I ride every Sunday (weather permitting- meaning dry roads) during the winter in the Chicago area.
All I wear underneath is UnderArmour, and lined jeans and a long sleeve shirt.
A balaklava when it really gets cold = 30* and below.
