I bought an Ultra Elite 11" shield on sale. I pretty much believe I can't go wrong at the price ($80 shipped). It should be here sometime next week.

Anybody have a shield for their tri glide in the year models with the air vent ('14 up)? Does the recurve really push the wind up higher? Wondering if this recurve business on shields is a gimmick or it really works.

Thanks for any input.

I have a 12" on my '14. I went with this one because my Road Zeppelin seat raised me higher.

Yes the recurve does work as advertised and also with the vent.

If you still find air coming up from under the gas tank, just put DK Custom Parts tank lift kit on. It is another cheap MOD and also allows cleaning the heads much easier.

Thanks for the reply. Makes me feel even better about the purchase. I had already planned on getting the tank lift at some point. Might wait until spring, but will get it.

Ihave tried both an 8" ad a 10" LRS shield. They both get the air higher .I really like the 10" (same height as stock) as it gets the air a little higher but I can still look over it.I have Mustang Summit seat which is very comfortable

Hey fearless ... can't wait for the ride report and what your BoB thinks as well. Pictures?

(I remember as a kid swimming across the Clarion river after they had let the dam out in the afternoon. The current would carry us a hundred yards downstream before we got to the other side. We lived in a little bump in the road town called Turkey City.)

still wet

Just as soon as it dries off a bit we will check it out. And i will include pics. Fish turkey run many times years ago. Nice people in that little village.

Ordered a LRS 10" Ultra Elite 2014 on Wednesday. I decided I wanted to change it to an 11" the next day. Called to get it changed, but they said it had already been cut. I figured that was that.

WRONG! She said "We'll just cut another one for you and send it out tomorrow or Tuesday after Labor Day." NOPE! I got it on Tuesday!

Put it on my bike and took a ride. Got up to 70 mph where the buffeting is usually making my ears itch because it's so bad. The buffeting is reduced at least 50%. I say 'at least', but I'm betting more, because my ears don't get the itchy feeling inside now.

I'm happy. I'm just hoping the shield doesn't scratch easily.

I bought a shield from Clear View several years back, went to clean it at a gas station, and it scratched so badly that the whole shield looked like it was hazy.

I want to say "Bless your hearts" to LRS for the big discount on their product for the holiday.

Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to buy it right now.

Micro fiber towels

Nothing touches my windshields but bugs and good approved cleaner and micro fiber towels and good polish never never use a paper towel or terry cloth on lexan windshield. :gah: ride safely fearless

Contacted LRS I have an issue with my 9" ultra recurve talked to director of operations shazam taken care of no problem. Nice to deal with a stand-up Co. I'm sure they will get more of my business. ride safely fearless.:pepper:ThumbUp

I've use the LRS recurves on 4 different bikes now. They work well at pushing the air up higher, prices and Customer Service are great. They do scratch more easily than the stock, but nothing so bad that it impairs my vision.

Taking Bride on date tonight!

I am looking forward to Pictures, and a rain report on how well the LRS works in the rain.
We may not see rain however I will report on passenger comfort in respect to lessen wind. ThumbUp ride safely fearless

Unfortunately I do not have a passenger :( but I do look forward to pictures and your report.

The reason that I asked is.....I am on my third windshield. I am 6' and have a Tall Boy seat, so the stock 10" from Harley put the top of the WS right in the middle of my line of sight. So I got a HD 12" light smoke, and it was much better. But in anticipation of getting a lift kit which puts the rider about 1" higher I decided to go for the big slab and recently got a 15" see through wall. Now the top of the WS is well out of my line of sight and it seems to do a good job of sending the wind up and over my helmet.

Just two days ago I got caught out in a rather heavy down pour on surface streets so I was only going about 30 MPH and not really fast enough for the windshield to kick the rain up and over. So the shield on my helmet got pelted with rain. Looking through the rain soaked shield on my helmet AND through the rain soaked windshield made vision very limited.

Then I come home and start reading about these LRS windshields. From the few pictures that I have seen so far I think they look MUCH better that the wall of glass or plastic I have now, and being able to ride in comfort and see OVER the windshield as opposed to through it would be a real joy.

The top of the tape on the WS pictured is about level with the middle of my upper lip and is right at 8". So before I bite the bullet....again, any pics would be greatly appreciated.

Well I switched out from a 9" LRS Ultra Recurve to the 9" LRS Ultra Flat Top on the advise that it would help with the wind on bride. This information is 100% correct my honey thanked me over and over again. At 70+ mph it was great at lower speeds not much different but when you get really moving, you see a great difference.

Light tint

That is a good looking shield, and it is not as 'flat' along the top as they look like on the site. Is that light tint or medium tint?

:10: Light tint works really good after dark, no rain this evening but lots of bugs. Remember be sure you clean these properly! read the directions they are not a hard as factory windshields but they are great. ThumbUp ride safely fearless

PS. attached is a 6" wind blade surplus for me. if interested PM me

So is the 9" Flat top higher than the stock shield? I wouldn't mind a change in wind, but the height of the original is damn near perfect for me. Thanks

sorry can't help

I have no idea what is on the Triglides OEM possibly 9" or 10". I really could not tell I'm sure others can help  Mine came to me with a 10" recurve LRS.

P.S. BOXX3r 3 says 10" are OEM on his new ride I'm 5'8" 9" work great for me LRS website shows how to determine what height you need, check them out. ride safely fearless

I can't say for previous models, but the windshield that came stock on my 2015 TriGlide was a 10" clear. And for me, the top of the windshield was smack dab in the middle of my line of sight. I either had to raise up to look over it or scrunch down to look through it, and neither scenario was comfortable.

Shown along with a 12" light smoke windshield from HD.
