I have a pair of Kury tail light LEDS and the rate of turn signal speed is normal. If I add Jam Strait LED front signals will I need a load equalizer?

you need an electronic flasher if you don't already have one.

I thought we all had flashers? Are we talking about the same thing? An equalizer regulates the speed at which the turn signals flash when you install LEDS on a bike/trike. Without one I am told the signals will flash faster.

I would say it depends on the Jam Straits themselves. I put CD Ringz on mine and the new version, for the Can Bus bikes, has the equalizer built in. All I had to do was install and turn on the flashers for about 4 minutes and all was good to go. Everything flashes as it should.

I was at my dealer today talking to them about a equalizer or not. The 2014's and above don't require one as the system allows for led lights. 2013 and lower do require one. Lucky for me I had the one I used on my 08 Fat Boy. I purchased a set of the CD ringz and installed the equalizer and CD ringz in the lot before I left.
I have to say the ringz are worth the money. I like them much better than the Jam Strait ones. The Jam Starits led cluster is about the size of a quarter maybe smaller. The CD ringz fill the bullet signal housing.

Just one more thing off my list. I do not intend to replace the flashing brake light module. I think they are dangerous to have. They can go out on you without your knowing about it and leave you without tail light brake lights.

WindyOne, I am facing the same problem, where is the connector to split and install the equalizer?

Correct - 14 and up no load equalizer needed. I do suggest that once you install the new lights, just turn the bike on and put the emergency flashers on for about 20 seconds. Seems to recognize the new units faster that way. jc

Was told by a Harley mechanic Saturday that the new '14 up bikes don't work on voltage but resistance. Not being any kind of electrical engineer I've got to figure out just what he was talking about. Thus probably why they don't need load balancers. ??? He indicated they new ones have half the wires of previously models.

Just saying.....

2014 - up CanBus Tour Pak LEDs flasher module

http://www.kriss.com/tourpack_cbflasher.php

Simple plug and play behind the seat ..... and if a problem simple un-plug and back to stock.
Selectable flashing sequences. Works correctly with signals and braking.

I am recommending this to many of my Canbus friends as a way to get more back side visibility to cagers.

Bob :D

Similar question - I put BAL led tail lights on my 2016. The signals themselves, front and rear, flash normal speed but the signal indicator in the dash flashes fast, like a bulb is out somewhere. Normal on a 2014 and up?
