I'm looking to buy a 2018 DCT Goldwing, but I lost right hand a few yrs ago. I have a '15 Spyder F3 and bought a second stock twist throttle assy, slid it onto left handlebar. Secured it with a bolt inserted into end cap mounting hole and plugged it in. Works fine. Wondering if I can do same general thing to Goldwing. I know there is additional wiring to consider. Any input is appreciated :)

Can't help on the throttle, But now i know where the handle Hook came from..

Had a old time farmer as a member of our club, A piece of farm equipment took his right hand back in the late Fifties and he had the hook....:(...He's been gone 20 years now, Never called him hook though, I we always addressed him as Mr....

Hey Hook! I don’t have an answer for you - just wanted to welcome you to TrikeTalk...all the way from Midland, Texas! :)

I was thinking of selling my Gold Wing trike or trading it for a Spyder RT Limited.

As yet, the Honda shop in Midland is still too proud of their prices on their unsold 2017’s. Maybe they’ll get antsy to sell them the longer they sit. :D

Are you riding with the Spyder group out here or just independent...?

Paws, I'm in Odessa :) Was just riding with personal friends and sometimes my nephew, also here ! Just fyi, I might know a GREAT guy who may be selling a F3 Spyder around May ! lol We should get together sometime and ride or visit at any rate.

+1 on the get-together! I watch this forum pretty close - just post on here where/when might be good.

Throttle by wire

I own 3 Harley’s and have left hand throttles on all. Right hand is a hook. However, when Harley converted to throttle by wire, the throttle can no longer be switch. Otherwise the throttle would work backwards. ie rolling forward to exceleratr and towards you to roll off the throttle. I have a chance to buy a 2013 goldwing that is throttle by cable but the Honda dealer won’t even look into switching it from right to left hand. Harley bent over backwards for me so I am a little disappointing with Honda. I am still researching if I can find an independent mechanic that will work with me because I want ABS but can’t have it with Harley. 2008 is the only year for the big cruiser to have throttle by cable and ABS. And that year ABS was and option. So far I haven’t found one. Goldwings have tons of late model bikes with throttle by cable and ABS. Just have to figure out how to do it. Long story short...save yourself some time and make sure your trike is “throttle by cable”.
