I agree Bill it was nicer 5+ years ago. Now the locals are just interested in the money. Prices really go up that weekend. When it started up many years ago their selling point was that they did not up their prices for that weekend so come on out.

Well said, no way I could have said it better. I live and hour thirty or so from this event and no way want to go there.

Have to agree ....the locals are out to get every penny they can. Prices are actually cheaper in Daytona during bike week.....and that is saying a lot. The biggest problem is the crowd...it is all condensed into one area (except for gator HD), In Daytona they managed to spread the crowd over the whole county so at least you have a little (not much) breathing room at times.
