Wife and I are in Laughlin, Nevada for the River Run. We have been attending for 20 years. Like it so much here we bought our 'retirement' house across the river in Bullhead City, Az.

Some pictures walking around. There are 5 hotels participating this year with Vendor Villages set up in the casino parking lots. They expect 35 to 40,000 bikers this year. We will be going back across the water to listen to the bands and boogie a bit . Rally runs Thursday through Sunday

Just walking around....

Loved that place when I use to go. Great place to people watch!. Are the vendors still setting up in the parking lot across the river in Bullhead City? I remember they were boycotting the increase in space fees and a good deal of them wouldn't set up in Laughlin.

Have a great time... I'm hoping to make it back some year. We use to stay in Kingman and ride down daily.

Very few on the Bullhead City side. The Avi Hotel didn't have anything this year, neither did the Ramada. Last year the Las Vegas Bikefest was down in attendance too. I guess us bikers are getting old.

getting older and harley parts , gas and motels are more expensive than they used to be. I think most of us would just rather spend a few days on the road traveling . Or then again maybe I'm just old and grumpy. :)

It is a 600 mile round trip for us, plus a couple hundred riding around. We have a house here so we don't get bent over with motel rooms

We just returned from Laughlin - we went early and left early to avoid the HUGE crowds - haven't been for several years, enjoyed it and never saw/heard of any problems - only real complaint we have (as many others) is the PRICE hikes - what a same!
Really enjoyed Oatman.......
:clapping:

Add to my previous post

Just a FYI - I put 1800 + miles on this trip and still LOVE'n my 2010 trike even more/more!
Currently clocking 58, 455 WONDERFUL miles!

We love it here. Wife and I are desert rats. After the first couple of years commuting we said to hell with it and bought a condo here. Sold it for a small house, and moved up to a house on the river in Bullhead City. Planned on retiring here, but all the grandkids are still in California, so this became a vacation house.

Loved my '09 Tri-Glide. Rode her all over the South-West. Just traded her last year for a Freewheeler. Less things to look at while riding.

You are lucky to beat the rain out of here!

How was the attendance this year? Since I'll be retired by then,my wife and I would like to attend next year's event. We were there in 2008 and had a great time.

I would guess attendance was about the same as the last 2 or 3 years. The Avi Hotel didn't participate this year, so the vendors they had were spread among the other 5 participating casino hotels. In it's hay day there were 8 or 9 casinos involved. I guess the whole motorcycle mania thing has eased off with the economy sucking and all.

In Sept or Oct there is one hell of a rally in Las Vegas. We have been to all of them. Really hard to not have a great time in Las Vegas. 2nd year I melted the ignition pickup in my Springer and had to ride 2 up on wife's Sportie, and still had a great time. You can google up both rallys

Enjoy your retirement, I have been 'out of work' for 15 years now ( and 5 Harleys)
