Late nighters---unite!!!

Well I plan on a few modifications shortly after I get it back, mostly cosmetic. I will not tell you now and surprise you with them after completion. Hey when is the gathering in Maggie Valley normally? I plan on being out west, probably the whole month of June.

BTW, I looked for the signature area of my profile but I can't find it. Am I missing it, or maybe because I such a newby that its not available?
Sorry, I meant to say settings, then edit signature on the left hand column.

That going back and forth from days to nights HAS to be taking a toll on you.

Not nearly as much as my daughter as of late. She has been extremely aggressive, especially towards me. No rhyme or reason. The wife is out of town and we went to a restaurant. She started beating the hell out of me. After 20 minutes of and her not stopping, we packed up the food we had and left. You wouldn't believe the stares we were getting. The only thing I can figure is she misses her momma. At least I hope that's what it is.

I work 4 to midnight so I usually stay up for a short when I get home. I think this is the first time I've "talked " to you, my name is Mike glad to meet you.

Hi my name is Steve. I am a retired LEO from Dade County FL (32 years). Also an Air Force Vet with 4/4 service.

Sometimes just can't sleep and keep thinking about the trike upgrade

Are you VA or GA?

Glad to meet you Steve, I'm in Va, retired Army 1SG, now working on a military base for about 2 more years. I saw in another post that you were asking about a trike gathering. This forum does one in Sept around Labor day week in Maggie Valley Nc. The 1800 rider forum does one in June every year at Bryson City Nc. I have signed up for that one and will go to the one in Maggie Valley if they have one. I have had my trike for 3 years and fully enjoy it, and wonder why I waited so long. The Trike Travel forum has information about the Bryson City gathering.

Yeah the Bryson City gathering would be fun, but I will be on a month long venture out west during that time. I plan on putting on from 7-10,000 miles during this trip with my brother-in-law and two friends that will be coming up from Miami to my home and we take off from here.

BTW, Thank You for your service. If you are old enough to remember, the public had a bad taste for the Military during the Vietnam War. Now they seem to be more supportive, but Washington has really dropped the ball on support.

I remember, I retired from the Army 26 years ago in April.

washington dropped the ball knowing that the survivors are about to die. Therefor by the time all the law suits get settled we will be MIA. War is war, the government always plays the time factor and usually wins the game they started. :gah:

Right or wrong the public had a good reason for the bad taste... There wasn't ONE Vietnamese that was ever going to come over here and fly into our buildings, Blow up any one or do a mass shooting... The Domino Theory [Eisenhower/ John Forster Dulles] And the Gulf of Tonkin [Johnson] Was all BS.... We didn't have any reason to be in that Hell Hole...
That was the start our Moral downfall..:mad:

Well being I have a sick mind, I think the government knew of the population explosion and drafted and sent us over there to cover for population reduction. Info from a sick person.

Boy did I start a political rant. Sorry!

Nothing to be sorry about. Everybody is entitled to say what's on their mind. Especially here. That's kind of why I opened this thread up. I wanted this to be a chat around place where people can talk about whatever they want. Maybe I should have located it in 'The Jungle'. But that's before I even knew what the jungle was.

You know what rips my sheets? Insomnia, I'm retired but worked 3rds for years and now I have this waking up thing a lot, the good thing is I don't fight it to much, I'll ck out the forums if it's not to cold go to the garage or a ride. Hit the fields in the spring or fall. Sometimes I walk back over the hill and wet a line. Come to think of it insomnia not all bad! Think I'll go let the dogs out for a romp.

It's caled winter rut. My 9-5 job is sleeping. That's pm to am. :Coffee: By the way, Good Morning?

That's the best part, being retired 8 yrs, I can nap when I want. Plus the mornings to me are the best. Do my chores till noon, then it's down hill from there. Looking forward to watch the sunrise and having morning coffee outside with the birds.

The wife returned home today after a nearly 3 day absence for work. Both daughters were glad to see her, especially the youngest one. She still tried to hit her daddy a few times, but momma stood in the way, and Raeden responded by calming down each time. So maybe it's just the fact that she missed her momma (at least that's what I'm hoping).

Speaking of rants...

In other news, I bought myself a present--an iphone 6s plus. Not necessarily because I was tired of the iphone 6 I already had, but because I liked the bigger size. I figured I could use it alone instead of the iphone and ipad side by side in my easy chair. More than half the reason I decided to get it was my mother-in-law (MIL) is using an antiquated iphone 4s. It's tiny, and her vision is bad, so I thought giving her my old, much larger 6 would be a good thing. Man was I ever wrong. Her reaction was nothing but worry about not being able to understand it because of this or that, because when she first got this phone (from us for free, mind you) that she had a hard time understanding how to use it. Before the 4s, she had some ancient Eternity phone (from us, for free) and she was endlessly complaining how it was screwing up, blah blah blah... Well, 99% of the time the problem was on the user end if you know what I mean.

Tonight, she and my wife had it out over the new phone I wanted to give her (for free...did I say that? OH, plus we pay the monthly bill, and NOOO we NEVER say anything of the sort to her about any of that), and my wife emailed me here at work, saying to put the phone in a drawer, because she wasn't messing with it and trying to beg her mom to allow us to help her out anymore. And that's what it amounts to...the MIL makes us feel like crap about the stuff we help her with. She claims she doesn't know anything about her phone. It's funny...I checked our bill and guess who uses 70% of the text messages a month...yep, her. And when the PHONE screws up (of course it's the phone) she calls my wife griping to no end about it. Invariably, my wife goes over to her house (because she can't get out in the cold, but anytime you need to go over for other reasons, she's out with her sister and it's just as cold), corrects whatever problem that she has caused, then makes my wife feel guilty because my wife got a little upset with her. And I'm telling you people, we keep our mouths zipped and don't get onto to her.

But anyway, I'm going over in the morning and I'm gonna put it all in plain and simple language for her. Will she think I'm a dick because of it? I'm sure. But I'll bet she'll take the damn phone, and maybe she'll think twice about griping about it again. Why am I doing this? Because I love her and I want her to have something worth having, and not the little piece of crap that's barely getting the job done now. If all this makes me a bad person, well, I'm a bad person.

The reason that your MIL and wife are having issues is what I feel that parents always think while dealing with their children, a still wet behind the ears philosophy! Good luck with the phone swap out.

Yeah, I reckon we'll always be younger than her, eh?

Have fun with transporting your bike to it's triking place.
