Heavy snow right now here in N. Jersey, I don't think most of it will stick though...
As far as the weather not being normal .....I moved out here in North Jersey around 1970, And drove into Manhattan every day. I had beetles with studded rear tires. And by Law they had to be off by April 1st, I would still keep then on till the end of April....Because we would still get a snow/ice storms after they had to be off... So back in the 70's this was normal .....The warm weather we been having the last few years in April isn't.....

I'm getting ready to go play a benefit show (on bass) with my bluegrass band "Some Assembly Required" today for the Fisher House. It provides housing for veteran's families visiting while they are in the hospital. It is the Richmond Marathon Jam. 30 bands on three stages all day. Check it out.

I got an email today from the organizers of the Jam. We raised an all-time high of $30,000 for the Richmond Fisher House. :wave4:epper::wave4:

The seven year total is over $115,000 in donations.

Wow. That's pathetic.

Our church gets more than that in donations from childrens' church. And our total congregation is usually about 100.

In fairness, it's not an "official" church function. They open the rec. hall twice a month on Friday nights for Bluegrass. Jamming from 6:30 to 7 and then a local band performs for 1-1 1/2 hours. People come for the free entertainment.

I sat in with some friends last month at another church that has a similar event. The audience was talking so loud over the music, the host asked them to stop because the stage mics were picking them up. Three of these free venues have closed in the last year because they can't get bands to play anymore. (My regular band included)

In contrast, the volunteer firehouse has a monthly concert with local and regional bands once a month. They raise money by charging $5.00 each and selling 50-50 raffle tickets. They split the $5.00 admission with the band. Another good cause and they have a pool of talent willing to play.

Switching subjects a little...

I'm seriously thinking about buying the oil filter relocator and oil cooler combo from DK Customs. It's $400 for now as an introductory price. I think it would be worth it if it cools the oil 30 degrees like they claim. They say it translates to about 10 degrees where you feel the heat--your right thigh and calf. I think that would be a considerable difference, and would be worth the money.

Now to pass the wife test...:cxtv:

Even with my 'no-wrench' skills, I think I could put it on. The only problem I think I might have would be with the taking the filter off and doing the reloctator part.

Went to the funeral, then to the graveside service today. The wife had me stay in the car with Raeden, since she had no business being out in the weather.

It was funny how snow started flying as soon as people got out of their cars, then quit as soon as they got back in.

Tell me about it. I get a total guilt trip any time I talk about getting anything. Which in truth, I should. She goes without all the time. I think about reminding her that's of her own choice, but know that's not wise to do.

Sometime this summer, I'll have enough change saved up to get it. That's how I'll do it.

Speaking of guns...got my certificate back from the state allowing me to apply for my CCDW license. Reckon I can take $60 and a 2x2 pic of me to the sheriff's office to finish it out.
