Klock Werks Windshield

Hi all! We have a '17 FW and are looking at getting a Klock Werks Billboard Flare windshield in hopes of taming the buffeting a bit. In looking at their web site I noticed they don't list one specifically for the FW, so I emailed them and they responded saying "We have installed the “FL” Softail FLARE™ windshield on the Free Wheeler!" The gentleman went on to give me specific part numbers #2310-0390 (17" Tinted) and #2310-0339 (20" tinted) which are listed as being for the Slim, Heritage, Classic, Fatboy, and Lo.

Before I purchase, I was just wondering if anyone here has installed one of these on their Freewheeler and how satisfied they are/were with it. Also, does anyone know if these windshields are the same as the FW's and are in fact interchangeable?

Thanks for any input.

Rick

I have one of their fenders. The guys at Klock have been great to work with. The Freewheeler trees are narrower that the other touring models. But that said, call Makel Juarez(National Sales Manager) at their shop 605.996.3700 and tell him what you are doing. He can get somebody on the R&D side to verify that the windshield will definitely fit (or not).

The other avenue is to work through Klock's Try a Flare program. Here is what it says on the web site ( https://www.getklocked.com/dealers/ )

Team Klock Werks has installed hundreds of windshields with the “Try It Before You Buy It Program,” at rallies with great success! Ninety-eight percent of people who try the Flare™ Windshield buy it! Klock Werks invites you to take a cruise with a test windshield and see for yourself why the Flare™ is the last shield you will ever need to buy for the best comfort for rider and passenger. Dealers across the country have chosen to participate in the program so you can Try a Flare™ Windshield before you decide to buy. If your Dealer isn’t part of the program, ask them to contact us at (605) 996-3700 to get set up.

The site says the nearest location for that program to you in Miller,MO is:

Ray John’s Hot Rods & Bikes9968 North Farm Rd 173Springfield Missouri 65803Phone: 417-759-7188

But talk to Makel about that too. He is a great guy and very helpful

Good Luck

PS....

Noticed that the site said: "Stock King Size Detachable Bracket required for all fitments" The Road King and Freewheeler windshield kits are different

Road King = 57995-96 + docking hardware kit 58221-04

Freewheeler = 57400273A and comes with the install "kit"

Softail has the same issues.... different kits for the windshield brackets

Make sure you ask them what you will need to mount the windshield....

Thanks for all the info Free Bird. I contacted them today and was assured the windshield would fit my FW using my hardware, so I ordered. Should be here Monday or Tuesday. Looking forward to getting it and trying it out. If I can remember I'll post a follow-up.

Thanks again. I appreciate the help.

Klock Werks for FW

rlsidwell, didn't see another post to know if this worked out well on your FW. I have a 2018 with HD shield but need shorter height & like the flare. Hope you can post on it.

Perfect fit!

I installed on my ‘17 FW and it’s perfect. The combo of this windshield and raising the front of the tank 1.5 “ has really cut down on the wind buffering. Also, the stock hardware on my HD windshield fit the Klock Werks perfectly.

Hope this helps!

They're the same as a RoadKing. Not sure what would be different. The shield off of my buddy's 14 CVO RoadKing fit right on my 19 FW.

The reason they use the one from a Softtail and Not the RK is the Nacelle on the King is larger than the FW/ST headlights and leaves a large gap for wind to come through.

 Sorry about not replying. I purchased the 17" high tinted I

KW flare which fits the Freewheeler & Soft tail. Absolutely fit perfectly in standard HD windshield hardware, and has cut down on wind & I can see over top now.
